Oh, the joy of setting up PayPal…

    Here is the question:

If I want to be able to sell products as the “website” not as a vendor on the website, would I just set the vendor from the drop down in product settings to the admin’s username?

If that’s the case, where are the PayPal credentials for the admin?
I know there are credentials in the woocommerce checkout area, but that is for the purpose of checkout.
I am a bit confused here. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Sunay…….

If you want to sell products as the site owner, the best practice would be to make a vendor account for your own products, then enter the PayPal credentials accordingly.

If you want to sell them as the “admin”, you would need to install the User Role Editor plugin (Free!) and then assign the “Vendor” role to the admin account in addition to applying the Administrator role with that plugin. After you do that, the admin can then access the vendor dashboard and list products.

    Thanks Ben,
That makes sense, however, do you think there will be a conflict with PayPal since the email used for the “vendor”admin will be the same as the one used for the woocommerce checkout setup? IN other words the chained payments may be confused by that..or maybe not…haven’t tried it, can’t speak from experience. I am currently having some trouble with setting up the live credentials for PayPal

That I do not know. You could always try it and report back, though! 🙂

Yeah I am planning on doing that, at some point. But now I have to figure out the other paypal issue that I am experiencing. Hopefully Jamie can help with some advise, when he gets back.
