    Hi support!

As I have checked WC Vendor supports “Paypal Adaptive Payments” and “Stripe” as payment gateways having the possibility of paying instantly to Vendors.

    Are these the only options?
Any idea if you will support Braintree in the future?

    Thanks in advance!
    Joaquin

    Hi Joaquin,

You’re the second person out of 7500 or so sites running WC Vendors to ask for Braintree integration.

https://www.braintreepayments.com/features/marketplace They do have a “Marketplace” feature that allows split payments, like Stripe or PayPal Adaptive Payments.

Will we support Braintree in the future? Probably. But it will be a separately purchased gateway, like Stripe is now. PayPal Adaptive Payments will remain part of WC Vendors Free since it was in the plugin when we forked it from Matt Gates.

When will we support Braintree? On a priority level of 0 (low) to 10 (high), it’s probably a pretty solid 1. 😉 It’s hard to devote a week to developing a plugin for the possibility of selling it twice. If more ask for it, it’ll escalate the timeframe. Or, if someone wants to bear the majority cost of developing it, we can do it that way, too.

    Hi Ben!

    Thanks for your quick answer!!
Just another question: with paypal adaptive and stripe, we can support orders with products from different vendors?

    ie:
    Order 1:
    – 1 Product from Vendor A
    – 1 Product from Vendor B

    Thanks

Of course! You can have multiple vendors per order. PayPal has a limit of 6 receivers (vendors) per order. Stripe, however, has no limit that I’ve ever heard of or found researching it.

    Hello,

Just to let you know yes we will be supporting Braintree. I have been talking to the BrainTree developer evangelist Steve as well as their product team. As Ben mentioned this will be a separate plugin. I will be working on this after Pro is out.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

This would be great! Stripe is awesome, but limited in availability. It would be helpful to be able to extend to countries in which Stripe is not yet supported. (We don’t & won’t use PayPal).

Looking forward to this possibility in the future. 🙂

Wow… I did not know that. Have they always owned Braintree or did they acquire that company?
    Ahhhh I can’t escape Paypal!! 😉

“On September 26,2013 Braintree was acquired by PayPal in a deal worth $800 million.”

Can’t fault the guy. I’ll sell both arms for $800 million. 😉

I will make this commitment to all members. If we sell WC Vendors for $800 million — You can all visit Jamie and I on our private island all expenses paid. 😉 We might even buy a cruise ship to travel the world just to pick members up and deliver them to the island! 🙂

Might there be an update on this? I know better than to ask for a definite timeline, but is it nearing completion?

There’s been zero progress on Braintree. We’re still building out features for Pro’s core. If we do Braintree, I cant see really starting it until like October or somewhere around then. Too much on our plates right now until then.

    Dang. That’s unfortunate.

Would a bunch of pre-orders push that up at all? I, for one, would be willing to pay for the gateway now if it meant getting it in June.

Probably not, no…. We cant tell people who have paid for Pro “Sorry, we have to write something for someone else first, your features are delayed till we’re done”. 🙂

Are you planning to integrate with Braintree anytime in the future?
