There’s a pretty amazing new front-end product and shop management tool that my friend Nenad has been perfecting and it works brilliantly with WC Vendors and other vendor systems. Watch the video below to see how easy it is to create new or edit existing products – with FULL OPTIONS – from the front end!

A few minutes into the video, you’ll see how easy it is to setup vendors with “specific” access to product options and features, so that vendors (or other roles) can only create certain products, or apply certain options, etc. It’s a slick, one-time process that takes about a minute!

This tool is seriously going to revolutionize front-end product management and multi-vendor wordpress stores as we know it. I’ve used e-bay, opensky, etsy and more and none of them are this easy to manage products with.

Check out Nenad’s plugin on Envato (codecanyon): WooCommerce Front End Shop Manager

This video proves its usefulness and ease of setup: Video Walkthrough – Frontend Shop Manager

    Ben,
Have you had a chance to check out this product?
I am very interested. I do not want to use WP User Frontend if I can avoid it. I do need something to keep my vendors in the front end, though… I know your Pro will have that capability, but I’m going to open my site in a few weeks.
Let me know…. I may try it anyway, but I was curious if you’d found any conflicts with WC Vendors.

Nope, so far the author has not replied to my emails, sent 3 days ago….. I’ll update if he does! πŸ™‚

Pro will indeed have its own front-end dashboard. This plugin appears, based on the videos, to be a bit different in functionality, steering away from a dashboard-based editor. But I cant say for sure unless I can try it. πŸ™‚

I’ve received the plugin from the author.

    Do not install it.

Currently, any vendor can edit ANY product on your website. Even the site admins products. It is a huge security issue, to allow a single vendor access to edit ANY product on the website, including ones they don’t own.

The plugin author is working on fixing it to ensure compatibility with WC Vendors. Once he does, and it tests OK, I’ll post back here. Shouldn’t be a terribly hard fix for him to implement, just a quick check if the author of the product is the person trying to edit it.

+1. Thanks for following up with him. I notified him as well but it looks like you got to him first, lol. πŸ™‚

The next version of his paid plugin will fix it, I already see the fix applied to our internal development server. It does indeed work. If the interface style is the way you like it, you’ll be happy with the plugin.

This does work *very* differently than Pro will, I should strongly note. In Pro, the vendor is not using the shop directory to edit products, they are using their own Vendor Dashboard.

It’s a better alternative than WP User Front End Pro though, that’s for damn sure. πŸ˜‰ No real configuration needed, just install it and go. Just a totally different *way* of doing it, so be sure to watch the video first.

    Ben.
I’m glad you were able to test this out and find that flaw. Glad to hear that the author is already working to fix it. πŸ™‚

Let’s say I do opt to purchase and use this frontend editor and listing tool once the security issue is resolved (It looks like a very neat and user-friendly process for listing and editing). Once the Pro WC Vendors is released, would this tool/plugin no longer be compatible? Would I still be able to have this operating as well as or along side of the Pro frontend listing in the shop dashboard?

I absolutely will be purchasing Pro when it is released, but for now I also truly need something in the next few weeks for frontend vendor listing and editing… so I have to either use this or WP User Frontend at first.

Thanks for letting us know how the tool worked.

Just a clarification on what Ben just mentioned and why I posted this here to begin with … 1) vendors *can* create products and do all product management from the frontend with this tool, as demonstrated in the video. 2) this should defintely not be an alternative to buying the features and functionality of WCV Pro, it was my hope that they would be compatible as Ben confirmed they are now. 3) I’ve been holding off on creating my own multivendor site until a solution like this became available and after testing ALL multivendor options for Woo, I’m definitely going with WC Vendors AND this plugin since it does allow full front-end product mgmt of all product types, and the developer was quick to fix what was brought to his attention – but I will definitely be purchasing WCV Pro when it does become available. In the meantime, its nice to know that we have an option to proceed now with projects that required a full front-end vendor experience.

@Ben- awesome. Truly, thank you for all the generous support and advice you and Jamie give. Oh WPUF… I briefly *tried* to work with the developers of WPUF and I really was unable to get any help. I am hoping to avoid using WPUF.
I am very excited for your Pro. It sounds like the two of you are working hard to make it outstanding, and I look forward to using it as soon as it is available.

    @Mattbrummett
    – yeah, I’m right there with ya. I have been working on a multivendor site for a bit over a month. I have tried quite a few multivendor plugins… most of them, actually. Wc Vendors is by far the best and has the most options. Also, the code is clean, and Ben and Jamie are so very helpful. I also love how many alterations can be made and github is full of goodies for Wc Vendors. Easy Digital Downloads is also great (they have a multivendor frontend extension) and they are also very helpful and REALLY know what they are doing. But… woocommerce is far better for physical products.

Absolutely I’ll be buying Pro. The snippets of discussed features I’ve read about here sound fantastic! But it is nice to know I can use this frontend manager for now… and it sounds as if it may work nicely in conjunction with the Pro frontend listing and product management. Users would then have the choice to edit or list using either method. In a perfect world, of course. πŸ˜‰

Thanks again to both of you. xx

ben, I must say I really love your plugin, and I’m really excited that the Pro-version will have front end integration, that’s the one thing I didn’t like about the plugin.
I’m in the same spot as Anna, will release my site in a few weeks, and I need to fix this first.
I understand if you don’t want to say an ETA for the Pro-plugin, but will it be 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months? Please give an indication. And what about the price, what are you charging for Pro?

Try that out, it’s the free version of the plugin being discussed. πŸ™‚ Just released yesterday on wordpress.org.

Sweet! Thanks, Ben. I’ll tinker with it and see how it works. I think you need the premium for multivendor… But this will give me a chance to get a hands on experience before implementing it.

    From the plugin author:

“The free version also supports WC Vendors, but only prices, featured images and categories are allowed to be changed.”

It’s extremely limited. But, at least you can decide if you want to cough up the cash for it.

ben, I searched this forum for info on WCV Pro release date, and first I found that you thought you could be done in March, then you said about 3 months from March. Which is about now, do you have any update on this? Some estimation, I don’t want to use the plugin discussed here.
Will purchase Pro instantly, just wish it will be released soon!

@joq3 — “Soon”. πŸ˜‰ I know, and heavily appreciate, that everyone is so excited about Pro! But the reality is it’s a LOT of code and takes a lot of time to write. We’re working on it near every day. And at the same time, still adding new features to WC Vendors Free, fixing bugs, doing support, working at our real jobs, and more. Once the front-end dashboard and the feedback system is finalized it’ll be ready for sale. I cant say when that will be since each part of the code is tricky to write and quite complex. It might be in a month, it might be in 2 months, it might be in 3 months. I want it done *now*, of course, but I cant wave a magic wand and make it happen. πŸ™‚ But in reality, we want to release it properly, functional, and bug free. We’re getting there. You’ll get an email notice when it’s ready for purchase, as will everyone on the message boards here, too!

    Cheers

    Hi.

I am agree with some comnents being done. It’s take me a lot of time to find a theme with frontend submmision that works fine. And it results that this theme has all the code integrated, so it is working without plugins.

The problem for me is that there are anothers features of this theme that i don’t like at all. And it is difficult to test other plugins to get this features improved because, generally, they are not free. So i don’t purchase any theme or plugin yet.

The best solution for me is purchase some wordpress/woocommerce theme (there many that integrate wc vendors) that has all features i want (this is easy), and then install wc vendors.

I have spent much time analizing almost every Frontend systems i found in Internet. I think all did a good work, but it isn’t enought.

I think the features must be developed thinking in the owner of every shop or every vendors. I will not purchase to get features to me, i will purchase to get fetures for my vendors, for my marketplace users.

I would like to see how they can customize theirs shops individually, that they feels like they have his own web page.

Another problem i have found in every plugins, a headache for me, is that it is imposible to set different ways to monetize the market at the same time. Until now it is possible to get a commision by every sale. It is possible to get a fee or a payment from vendor if you sell them membership packages. I mean to get payments by creating or purchase a number of products in a period of time. It is possible to combine both of them, getting the payment from the membership package an then another payment too if vendor sell some of the products submmited.

Buy i have found that it is not possible to use one payment method to get commsion from a kind of vendor or product/category and anothet method like membership packages from another/s.

    Imagine the following…:

First group of users will sell big physical goods like machinery which is expensive and not easy to sell so i want to get a sale commision (a percentage %). In the submmiting form or register form i think they would have to distinguish between the kind of user they are or the kind of product they submmit with some field.

Second group of user wiil sell small physical goods like spare parts of machinery that is easily and cheaper to sell, so i want this group of user pay a subscription package depending of the products they submmit or create during a period of time.

So, when a new user get registered depending of the kind of product he sell, he will have to pay a package to be allowed to submmit products or he will have to expect to sell some product he submmited to pay a sale commision.

There a lot of real examples that could be implemented in commerce related to this casuistry.

All this are only thougths and wishes.

Anyway, i am very excited for your plugin and i am waiting to purchase inmediatly WC Vendors Pro. I really need it!!!

So, i know that you noticed that it could spend one, two or three month, but could you tell me how the development process works?

If you will be so king as to send me an email notice when it’s ready for purchase…

    Best regards.

    David.

Thanks David. Try WordPress, WooCommerce, WC Vendors as the plugins, and WooThemes Storefront theme. Storefront is free, and integrates very well with everything. Plug’n’play!

The WC Vendors Pro front-end editor is quite nice. Jamie has painstakingly written it from scratch, to work, be pretty, and more importantly, to work well. I think you’ll like that.

There are pay to post plugins out there, which would allow you to charge vendors “listing fees” or “membership fees” to post products. You just have to sort through them to find the ones that work with custom post types, as WooCommerce products are, like any WordPress plugins, custom post types.

You will get an email notice when it’s ready, everyone registered here will get the email for it. πŸ™‚

    Cheers

    Hi again.

I have tried two front-vendor tools and i see the same deficiencies. In one of this, there is not possibilities to add zip code to vendors registration
forms. I have read a lot of post about it because important to integrate zip code with searching, so you can find all products around your street. Very important…

Second deficiency i see is that in both tools, vendor do not have possibilities to get related the product with categories in menu or in search. Both of them only have name, price, sku, description, alt, height, width and weight. All that it is ok for the shipping but i think not for the caracteristics forms of the product.

If vendors sell mobile phones front-end should give more possibilities to identify the product as ram (1 gb, 2gb,3gb…), room, mpx camera (8 mpx, 13 mpx,16 mpx), internal memory (8 gb, 16 gb, 32 gb…), batery capacity (2500 ma, 2800 ma, 3100 ma…),…With more information it will be better to clasify the product.

If i sell clothes the same but with anothers attributes. All depending of the sort of marketplace.

Well. All this is what i think and about i have read. I am waiting hopefully WC Vendors pro.

    Best regards.

Has anyone using this plugin got to choose a shipping class from the front end with this plugin?

Maybe it’s my eyes, but I just noticed there’s no input field for it. I’d much rather my vendors stay out of the backend. Does anyone have a solution?

I was using this plugin with the old Product Vendors and it was working ok. I say “ok” because the usability around adding a product isn’t great and changing that usability would require refactoring his javascript which is very poorly coded.

I also don’t like that simply opening the new product panel creates a product. In typical usage, there’s going to be loads of users that open that panel, then just close it, which means some admin has to go through and periodically remove empty pending products. I’ve complained about both of these major issues on codecanyon and he seems to be ignoring me.

Now however, I updated to WC Vendors and am using WFSM 3.0 and the only product data I can get to save is the product description. Everything else is blank except for the title which is the default “New Product”. Is anyone else having this issue?

I am working with a frontend plugin in my web and i have problems to submmit information about location shops and then, that this information could be searched with a form by country, city and postal code. Usually this information it is not connected with search forms.

I have tried to submmit google maps location shops in my web but it is not possible either.

I think that in a marketplace it is very important to get a detailed location of every shop using zip/postal code that every user have submmited previosly in the register form. It would be awesome that frontend system will allow to use google maps location. At last, i think it is very important to have some search form for shops that allow to searh shops by postal code and others keywords that user/owner shop has submmited previously.

Will Pro frontend product submission easily support custom fields via ACF Pro?

    Hello,

The front end form is a template that you can edit and you can add/remove fields very easily. I’m currently working on how to support the save/edit of the custom meta keys. Currently not implemented but it is on my list.

If ACF supports front end save/edit and is already hooked then you should only need to add the form with the correct meta key.

We support all form input types that I can think of πŸ™‚

    cheers,

    Jamie.

Hi, one question about stores location.

it will be possible to add shops/stores locations with google maps or open street maps in the frontend? it will be possible to search shops by country, city and postal code with some search field, geolocation or through some google map. If not, i know there is a lot of location store plugins in WordPress.org and Themeforest, so…do you know if there are any compatible to use in frontend?

    Thank you in advance.
