    Is there a way to bulk assign products or categories of existing products?

    Hello Paul,
    Do you mean assign products to vendors in bulk?
    If that’s what you mean, then no- there isn’t a tool built-in for this. You can use the product add/edit form in the admin (wp admin > products) and assign the vendor for the product – there is a drop down box on the product listing form in which you can select to which vendor you want the product assigned.
    To bulk assign products to a vendor, you’d need to actually assign these in the database by going to the wp_posts table and change the post_author to the appropriate user.

    TO bulk assign categories to products, go to wp admin > products; check the box of the products you wish to assign/edit, select Bulk Actions (drop down box) > edit. Apply. Then Choose the category or categories to bulk assign to the products.

    I was just reading through this one where you responded: https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/bulk-edit-vendors/

    If it is purely a case of who the product’s author is, would something like WP Default Author work to solve this problem – or some other similar plugin?

    @paulthinkgrow
    Honestly
    i am not certain.. although the vendor is the product post author, I still do not know if the plugin or another like ti would recognize the vendor role = author without a bit of custom coding.
    If you find a free plugin that might meet your needs- you could try it.
