    Hi,

I’ve been searching for the right platform for some time and am excited that WC Vendors might have what I’m looking for. Some questions about search:

    1. Can customers browsing the main multivendor site search for products and/or vendors/sellers based on region (state, city, zip code, etc.)
    2. Can customers browsing a vendors/sellers site search for products based on region (city, zip code, neighbourhood?, etc.)

    Thanks!

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew!

1 & 2 — Not by *default* but you can certainly code this in. Check out the http://www.wcvendors.com/kb/ for articles that cover a wide variety of topics including custom field sorting/searching. Since every site has different ways they want to search, it’s not something that’s built into the plugin. It’s really more of a WooCommerce thing than it is a WC Vendors thing. All we do is let people sell stuff. It’s up to you to make the front end happy and pretty and for them to be able to find things. 🙂

    Cheers

    Ben

First off – HOLY COW! You actually replied…….quickly…….and with a real answer as well as link to amazing bible of resources. Kudos for taking your product and product support seriously. I think your reply alone has put you over the edge of other platforms I’ve been considering. I’ll probably need to hire you guys or a a freelancer to help with some of the customization work but at least I know it can be done and the list of shortcode solutions is amazing. I’m trying to beat this decision as to which platform to go with to death but I really don’t want to have to switch platforms 2, 6, 12 months in like I’ve seen mentioned in some of the comments.

While I have you, (and apologies if I should do this via a new string), can I ask what sets WC Vendors apart from “Product Vendors” or “Dokan”?

    Thanks Ben!

We like to think support is more important than the actual plugin. 🙂

Use the search box for the forums for “Product Vendors” or “Dokan”. See what everyone says. 🙂 They’ve been discussed a lot. I think you’ll find some of our members comments quite funny and you’ll get a feel for what everyone else who has tried those two platforms thinks (Spoiler: it aint good for them!). 😉 We’re the #1 used platform for a reason. It works, we support it, and we constantly update it. 🙂 This plugin has been around for almost 5 years.

    Cheers

    Ben
