    Hi,

Do you have any experience with WC Vendors Pro on large amount of data? Any success-stories?

I am looking for a vendors site that can handle a huge numbers of vendors (more than 10 000), and over 100 000 of products. Will WC Vendors Pro be able to run this large amount of data, or will it become slow with cache problems?

    Best regards, Merete

That’s more of a question about WooCommerce in general. You can probably do it, but it would involve a lot of optimizing/caching setup.

WC Vendors Free and WC Vendors Pro can handle unlimited products and unlimited vendors. No problem. We could care less if you have 1 product or one bajillion quadrillion products.

What does matter, is your webhosting setup. Obviously, if you have more than 10,000 vendors, you have staff of at least 10-15 people handling customer service and a huge tech team. You’d be as big as Amazon.com with 10,000 vendors, too.

So, what is this mystical website you are building that you are curious about if a single plugin can handle the equivalent of trillions of dollars of web sales for *your* site? 🙂

As an actual serious answer, it’s all about your server hardware. If you use GoDaddy and you pay them two dollars a month for hosting, you’ll get two dollars worth of a webserver. Pay more host more. But as for the actual software, WordPress, WooCommerce, and WC Vendors, no problem.

Thank you for your answers. We do have a site in Norway which today have over 5000 active vendors and over 100 000 products. But the system is slow, and needs a lot of expensive develeopment to get up to the WC Vendors Pro standard. But I have heard from developers that Woo Commerce is considered slow, and thefore wold not be able to handle this huge amoung of data.

But if it is like you are saying, all about the hosting, then it might be possible?

The only obsticle then would then be the expensive migration of all the data.

WooCommerce can handle that sized site no problem at all. And more. In fact, in the next version of WooCommerce 3.0.0 out April 3rd you will see many improvements speed wise as they have moved away from the slower wordpress tables for things and you’ll see marked improvements of 80-90% speed upgrades. Happy times.

Migration of data really wouldnt be hard either. Just ues the free CSV importer that is found in our knowledgebase under the compatible plugins article. It can handle product imports of any size and attribute the products to the right vendors accounts and everything. For importing everything else that isnt a product that’s easy too, ther’es other import tools for it and it’s all just simple database stuff anyway. Worse case scenario it might cost you a few hundred bucks to have someone migrate from Software X to WordPress/WooCommerce for you.

Hosting wise we offer hosting. You would have to have a dedicated server that sized website, most likely, and then that’d cost a couple hundred bucks a month to rent from there out.

Thank you, Ben. This sounds very promising!

When it comes to server, I see that you are offering Marketplace hosting : https://www.wcvendors.com/product/marketplace-hosting/ for $149 a year or is GoDaddy a better option, as you suggested above: https://no.godaddy.com/hosting/web-hosting?

It is crucial to have high performance (ofcourse) and therefor I will be sure of getting the best server speed possible… Again, thank you for your time!

You will want your own dedicated server. We can lease one and manage it for you, or you can buy your own and do it yourself. All up to you. ~$200/month depending on what type of hardware you need.
