    Hi, dear WC Vendors creators!

We are testing the commission system here and the ‘cash by delivery’ option. Our finding is that in this approach, the commission will still go to the vendor while in the mean time the buyer actually pay the vendor on site when pick up.

Any suggestions on how we should go about fixing this issue?

    Best regards,
    Stephen

    Hello,

Is the marketplace still charging a commission for listing products? Will the vendor be paying the marketplace after they get the money from the buyer?

    cheers,

    Jamie.

No, currently we are not charging a commission for listing products.

Our model wants to be that : if the buyer opt to pay at the pick up, it is free. we only intend to charge if the purchase is through the online payment system (paypal, strpe etc).

So, our thinking is that when the ‘cash by delivery ‘option is chosen, there should not be commission involved.

Also, if we want to charge a fee for uploading a product, how can we set it up?

    Thank you for you help!

    Best regards,
    Stephen

    Hi Stephen,

You would have to write some custom code to get commission to be disabled when COD payment is used. With regards to charging people for uploads you would need to look at integrating a membership plugin. There are other people on our support forums that have done this.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

After you’ve done your pro bug fixes, added your version updates and had a bit of a break, I would be interested in knowing how to disable commissions for cash on delivery sales, i might even cough up a couple of quid to make it happen.

I definitely want to add it to my own sales as well as vendors. I don’t think it will be a massive way for people to pay but it would cut down on the admin work, avoiding having to mark commissions as paid from the admin panel. Plus it could be confusing for some vendors saying they’re owed commissions because it shows on the dashboard – even though they were paid by cash. Just don’t want any extra work if that make sense.

A break? We get to take a break? Woohooooo! 🙂

You could hook into the commissions filter and add all your commission coding into that, and return zero if the payment gateway is COD. That should work just fine. It’s up to you to code it, but certainly do-able.

A sample of the way to use the filter is shown here:
