Hi there, not sure if this is the right place for feature requests for when woobookings is integrated but I just wanted to raise a point around the “check availability” option in woobookings. If this option is set in woobookings could payment still be taken with stripe but held in escrow, if the booking is accepted by the vendor then payment is transferred and if not the payment is returned seamlessly. I know the new version of product vendors is going to have this option but just curious as to how it might be handled here. Thanks for your time and good luck with the enhancements.

Good question! A little bit too early to tell, for us. It would be payment gateway dependent, so we’ll just have to see how it goes to see if this is something we can or can not add.

Thanks Ben, stripe does indeed allow for the payment to be “held” so to speak so hopefully this can be added in due course. Ideally for bookings and to mimic sites like Airbnb you want to reduce refunds as much as possible. The on thing that happens the most in bookings is people cancel or reschedule and this process has to be easy.

Ideally even is the vendor checks the availability and approves the slot the money should not be taken until a certain “time of no return” before the actual booking time, say 1 hour or in other scenarios 24 hours so hopefully a setting to control the “payout” time can be added. This is what makes woocommerce Bookings right now extremely limiting so hopefully when u guys get into woocommerce bookings integration you can crack it :))
