    Hi guys,

The law in Denmark is pretty clear on people only being allowed to pull payment from a card once an order is shipped from the store during e-commerce transations.

It feels like I’m going to have to drop you guys a custom development request 😉

Is there an easy way to change this by any chance, just unhook and rehook perhaps?

    Best,
    Bjørn

The actual request here would be:

“what’s the best way to tie payment together with order shipment rather than order receipt?”

There would have to be an “Authorize” and then a “Capture” mode for the payment gateway you are using. Does one exist? Maybe!

Haha 🙂 You tell me, it’s the stripe connect gateway – isn’t there a way to make it pay to stripe only on “vendor shipped product” event ?

Testing what happens when I change order status of an incoming order in Woocommerce, and cancelling an order does not seem to refund the payment in the Stripe gateway. Is this expected?

That’s part of why I’d need for the gateway to only ever receive the transaction if the order ships. That way we’re much more safeguarded against refunds that have to be manually processed. Manual refunds in stripe – it aint easy 🙂

Stripe doesnt have support for “Authorize now and capture when you feel like it”. And refunding in WooCommerce does not refund in Stripe, you have to refund from the Stripe Dashboard.

I find refunds in Stripe pretty easy. Just copy/paste the transaction # into Stripe and click refund.

Got it – thanks for input here 🙂

Anything manual is difficult, with lots of vendors who may or may not need to refund something. That’s addressed in the other thread I just poked at though 🙂

    ooh, Update to this. https://stripe.com/blog/auth-capture

Stripe actually does support auth now and capture later.

Neat. That wouldnt be terribly complex to integrate. I’ll add it to the Stripe Todo list for the future, but right now of course, we’re neck deep finishing up Pro.

Hi all, did this feature end up getting implemented into the Stripe plugin? Is it currently possible to auth now, capture later with PayPal and Pro? Thanks.

Not yet, no. Currently Stripe is just a capture immediately.
