The ‘Add product’ feature doesn’t allow the vendor to add an attribute option themselves, even though the attribute has been set to ‘text’

This is quite important, because it is impossible for us to implement all colours or brands for vendors to choose from.

Ok, but i’m only using simple products and we’re using the attributes for filtering the different types of clothing on size, color, etc.

Is there any way to implement that now?

    Hi QuincyRossieau,

At this stage I would have to re-write how attributes are displayed and functioning to support what you’re asking for. This would be closer to tag like functionality you currently see in the new dashboard.

It would be possible to do this however I would advise against allowing your vendors to input any attributes they want in. This is how you get catalog spam VERY quickly.

At this stage I’m focused on fixing critical bugs and then will look at enhancements in the coming weeks.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

Ok, I understand your point about spam.

How would you go about adding product attributes like color and size and being able to filter them on the store archive page?

    Hi QuincyRossieau,

You add the attributes on the backend of woocommerce as usual then pro dashboard detects them and includes them in the product edit form automatically.

With regards to filtering that is a strictly WooCommerce issue.

    cheers,

    Jamie.
