So we had a competition at our site and decide to give out coupon code for some lucky winners that they could use for the whole site. The coupons were created in the admin backend. However, when they were used to order, we got this lovely email… Any ideas what’s causing this?
Is it not a good idea to use coupon code for the whole site? :/That’s………Weird………. Those errors relate to shipping, not coupons. I’ll add it as an issue for Jamie to check out. I’ll link to this thread for it. In the meantime, can you try to replicate it so that you *always* get this error? Then we can sort it out much faster and get v1.2.0 finished faster. 🙂
Well.. uhm. I’ve disabled the international shipping completely. The products that were ordered had both free shipping and a national shipping set. My dev site is not up yet, so I can’t replicate it easily. Is it possible to do it on your dev site? 🙂
When I give Jamie a bug to fix, I need to tell him how to reproduce the bug. 🙂 If he cant reproduce it, there’s nothing to fix. 🙂
@ben I know, however, my dev site is currently down. I’d gladly try to reproduce it, but I have no site to test it on. 😛

Without steps to repeat this it’ll be hard for me to debug but I think it’s because its a store wide coupon.

Has that happened on all vendors or just that one? That error looks like an issue with how the shipping was saved. What kind of coupon was it?

@digitalchild Indeed because of the general store wide coupon. Do you think this will be possible to fix at all? Would great to have, but for me it seems hard to implement.. If I create a coupon, I don’t want the vendors to loose any commission, the coupon is on the house, if you get what I mean.

Not at this time but I will add it to our enhancement list to work out how to make this function correctly. It’s actually a difficult problem because if you don’t want the vendors to loose any of their commission then how can you be sure that your commission rate will cover the cost of the coupon?

@digitalchild It won’t. Sometimes you just want to have a coupon contest, and what you loose in money is what you gain in marketing. 🙂

I’m pretty sure we tried this last year with free and it blew up in our faces and I wasted a few days trying to make it work. The math can get all screwed up as I cannot guarantee that the market place owner will select the correct amount.
