April 5, 2015 at 10:47 am #4152WC Vendors Support
Participantwp-admin->Users->Add New->set role as vendor? π
April 5, 2015 at 10:49 am #4153MIDAE
ParticipantBut how can I allow people to “sign up” as a vendor if I’ve got to do it in the Admin section?
April 5, 2015 at 10:53 am #4154WC Vendors Support
ParticipantThey check the box on /my-account when they register or by visiting the vendor dashboard.
Read the manual! π

April 5, 2015 at 11:03 am #4155MIDAE
ParticipantOK , doesn’t seem as straight forward as I first thought tbh…
April 5, 2015 at 11:05 am #4156WC Vendors Support
ParticipantHow much easier can it get? Check a box, click submit? π Unless we use telepathy or ESP……. π π

ParticipantMy site > http://www.buuy.uk/
Where am I going wrong?
April 5, 2015 at 11:15 am #4158WC Vendors Support
ParticipantMostly in your configuration.
1.) http://www.buuy.uk/?page_id=9 — THis is bad. https://www.wcvendors.com/knowledgebase/setting-permalinks/ <-- Do this. Then that page will be buuy.uk/my-account/ 2.) wp-admin->WooCommerce->Settings — Allow registration on the my account page. Then vendors can register there. Then make sure you have *disabled* the automatically generate username option in WooCommerce settings, too.
While you’re in the settings, review them and experiment! This is part of owning and operating a store, knowing what settings are available and how they work. π
April 5, 2015 at 11:20 am #4159MIDAE
ParticipantRight think I’ve worked it out..
1. The user (new store owner) must register on the site first (www.buuy.uk)
2. The new store owner then gets the email from us / WP with the log in details..
3. The new store owner then goes to “Vendor Dashboard” and asks to become a “Vendor / Store Owner”
4. We review and accept (of course!)..
5. They once accepted can then log in to their own dashboard to set up their store..April 5, 2015 at 11:24 am #4160WC Vendors Support
ParticipantThat’s correct! Although #4 is optional, you can allow all vendors immediate access to list products, or require you as the admin to approve them.
Try it out! π
April 5, 2015 at 11:26 am #4161MIDAE
ParticipantWhere do they register??? Is just brings up the normal Admin log
April 5, 2015 at 11:38 am #4162MIDAE
ParticipantI’m sorry the set up guide is difficult to understand. It seems that you have to create a vendor (the seller) manually in WP before they can ask to become a store owner on the site.. is this right???
The form on the set up guide showing “New User” doesn’t appear and should.. this is where all new store owners should come first.. yet this is down the bottom after a lot of other stuff..
I’m really sorry but I do find this difficult to understand and set up…
April 5, 2015 at 11:55 am #4163MIDAE
ParticipantOK We’re getting somewhere now…
The part where you’ve mentioned about “WooCommerce->Settings — Allow registration on the my account page. Then vendors can register there. Then make sure you have *disabled* the automatically generate username option in WooCommerce settings, too” >> THIS NEEDS TO BE MENTIONED FIRST!!! Without seeing this I was about to deleted the entire plugin..
April 5, 2015 at 11:59 am #4164WC Vendors Support
ParticipantAny store admin already has WooCommerce configured if they are trying WC Vendors. If you cant configure WooCommerce, how do you expect to use your site? Come on, cant blame us for you not configuring your other plugins. π
I’m taking the rest of the day off, after all it is a holiday today, and a weekend. π Read up on some WooCommerce howto guides, and I think your store will make much more sense to you. If you run into more problems — after you have experimented with settings — I’ll be happy to reply later on.

ParticipantI found a theme that is pre-bundling WC Vendors with it, and the theme author, has created a little series of videos on how to use WC Vendors. After having thought about you a little this afternoon, thought you might like the links.
He’s a little difficult to understand, and goes about things in a weird way sometimes, but overall, it’s a decent little introductory series on how to use WC Vendors. Give it a shot, maybe these will help.
Just remember, these are not our official videos, these are from some other guy who we don’t know and have never met. π

ParticipantHi Ben
I’ve set up another test site on another domain I own to set everything up and test etc. and so far so good.. which is great..
Q. Is it possible to allow the vendor’s products once added to automatically be published rather go to “Review”
Q. Store Logo > is there anywhere for them to add one?
-Justin
April 7, 2015 at 5:23 am #4193MIDAE
ParticipantQ. When I’m logged in under the test account there is no “Control Centre” as per mentioned on the Set Up Guide
Q. There is no where that show’s the “vendor” the link to their shop so they can grab the link and promote it???
April 7, 2015 at 6:38 am #4194MIDAE
ParticipantIgnore these Questions :
Q. Is it possible to allow the vendorβs products once added to automatically be published rather go to βReviewβ
Q. Store Logo > is there anywhere for them to add one?— sorted out my self — (its been a while since I’ve used WP!)
The other 2 questions still stand.
April 7, 2015 at 6:58 am #4195MIDAE
ParticipantOK, How do you add products? I in the “Dashboard” and all I can see is “View your Store” and “Store Settings” neither of which allow you to add products????
April 7, 2015 at 7:00 am #4196Jamie
KeymasterHello,
What theme are you using? The default links.php template has links to all the relevant settings, store page and add products.
cheers,
Jamie.

KeymasterHello,
There is something very wrong with your permissions which is why its not displaying certain things. What role have I been given?
Are you able to create an admin account for me also?
cheers,
Jamie.

KeymasterHello,
You didn’t have your capabilities set to allow vendors to post products.
On the Capabilities Tab for WC Vendors settings.
Products
You need to tick
* Submit Products
* Edit Live Products (if you want them to be able to do that)
* Submit Products without approval (meaning the product goes straight to the store without the admin approving it)I’ve enabled the first two options and the products tab has shown up in the wp dashboard and the buttons have shown in the front end.
This is also shown in the screenshot in our getting started knowledge base article. We are working on getting better documentation and hopefully a nice quick video walkthrough in the future.
cheers,
Jamie.

ParticipantHi Jamie
Thank you so much for sorting it..
I really do think that WCVendors has massive potential..
I think clearer walk through and a video wouldn’t go a miss.
Once my site is live, I will forward on a list of features etc that I think is missing etc..
Thanks again!
Justin

KeymasterHello,
No worries, hopefully our documentation will fill this gap soon so we don’t have to get admin credentials to check for issues.
I am actively developing our pro paid add-on at the moment in tandem with adding to and fixing the free version. If you have any suggestions/comments you’re more than welcome to submit a suggestion on the feature forum. We also have all our code in github as the free version is completely opensource so if you find and fix a bug you can always submit a pull request. I’ll analyse the request and integrate it if all is good. You can also submit code issues on github too if you find a bug but can’t figure it out. This is usually after asking on here first.
Good luck with your launch and remember we have a bunch of code samples and how to’s in our knowledge base that are worth a read.
cheers,
jamie.

ParticipantCool!
Couple of ideas straight away..
1. List of vendors on a page (with links to their stores)
2. Total number of products in a widget (as well as the product cats one!)
3. Total number of vendors
4. Vendor business type added to their listing (so user can choose i.e. Jewellery, Cars, etc)
5. Option to include logo separately on profile page.
6. Option to include a welcome message on the homepage?Justin

ParticipantAlso bulk upload of products via CSV.. seriously important to those retailers with their entire list on .CSV file..!!!!

ParticipantSeriously cool! π
April 7, 2015 at 11:17 am #4211MIDAE
ParticipantGoing to run some of these on the test site and get the entire website working and then move it across to the proper domain for launch.. very excited!
April 7, 2015 at 11:30 am #4212MIDAE
ParticipantOK Small problem, with the WishList Plugin..

ParticipantIf there a way of making the site so that people have to log-in before anything can be brought from the site, like a membership, free of course, that will list what they’ve brought, from who, when, how much etc??
April 8, 2015 at 11:29 am #4251WC Vendors Support
ParticipantYes, that’s part of WooCommerce settings. Read up on the WooCommerce documentation.
