    Hi,

In the free version text for the vendors stores was just output as text, and it looked fine. But now the text seems to be displayed in a grey header image: http://thebookcoverdesigner.com/designers/blazing-covers/ It doesn’t look good…

It’s a grey header, indeed! Perhaps that vendor should upload a Banner and an Icon to their Pro Dashboard > Settings > Branding link. 🙂

OK so the Shop Description that a vendor wrote before won’t transfer over to the pro version?

I’m concerned about cases like this where the text isn’t even readable anymore because you can’t scroll down to read it: http://thebookcoverdesigner.com/designers/magic-covers/

If no Store Banner is set, wouldn’t it make more sense to output the HTML store description? Instead of the grey banner?

That is correct — The old shop descriptions are not imported. They are not imported for the reason you’re seeing, often they are too long.

One thing you could do, is modify the shop templates included with WC Vendors to show the store layouts in a different way so they can have more text. Just like anything with us, it’s just a matter of tweaking the templates to your preferences……. The WC Vendors Pro Setup Guide (in the KB) has a list of all the templates and what each one controls.

Sure, you can code that into the templates. If the store banner is not set, display this or that or whatever.

OK thanks for the idea. I need to go to bed now but I’ll have a look at the templates tomorrow. Right now I’m bit unsure whether pro is worth it for us or just stick with the free version as the header thing is worse than it was, and we won’t be using the shipping or ratings (products are only sold once, so ratings should be for the vendor not the product).

I guess it’ll come down to how much of an improvement I think the front end submission is. I know I’m going to have to heavily modify the template for a start – we don’t want the pie chart, etc.
