    Hi Ben and Jamie,

I use per product shipping plug in, so our vendors wouldn’t be able to add shipping to new products in Pro.

Am I able to activate WCVendors Pro but still direct the Vendors to the old product listing screens until the Shipping module is ready?

Also, how will it work when we have the Shipping Module? Will Vendors add their set shipping costs ONCE for all products in their shop (for their own country and overseas) then for certain items that are more expensive to post they add the shipping cost to the individual item? So when I deactivate my Per Product Shipping module (woo hoo!) every product will still have shipping costs set once by the Vendor.

    Many thanks,

    Karen

    Hi Karen!

    With the shipping module:

1.) Vendors can set a default shipping price per product.

2.) The default shipping price can be overridden on each individual product for heavy/light stuff.

3.) There can be a maximum shipping price set, so that if someone orders 9999999 products from one vendor they are not charged more than $X for shipping.

4.) These rates can be set for in-country sales, and out-of-country sales, with in-country being set by their stores country setting on the Pro Dashboard. 🙂

Gosh you guys! You’ve thought of everything, that is an absolutely perfect shipping module!! Can’t wait!

For now (as I’m dying to get started with the Pro version) can I activate it but still have Vendors going to the old product listing forms so they can still add their shipping? The when the Shipping Module is ready, I can then let them all use the much improved product listing forms?

Or am I best just being patient and waiting for the Shipping Module?

    Many thanks,

    Karen

Of course! You can install Pro and still use the old Vendor Dashboard. We made sure the old Vendor Dashboard still worked to give people time to transition over to the Pro Dashboard and tweak the hell out of it. 🙂

You can also edit the Pro Dashboard templates to create a link to the back-end product page so that you still have PPS support.

Yay can’t wait to tweak the hell out of it!! 😀

Is it obvious how I do the above?

Also is this where I find the latest update:

As you’re adding updates, will we see our version has an update in our Plug in within wp-admin as normal?

Ta very much, getting very excited that I can start using Pro!!! (happy dance!)

    Hi Karen,

You fetch updates from http://www.wcvendors.com/my-account/ — Current version is v1.0.1. The updater code that WooThemes provided us didn’t work properly, we have to fix that, too. 🙂 After we do (most likely 1.0.2) then the plugin will update itself like regular plugins do, in your wp-admin dashboard.

    I’ve purchased! 🙂

So I downloaded v1.0.1 from my account
Then clicked ‘Upload Plug in’ within my wp-admin
But the files downloaded aren’t a zip file which is what I’ve had for previous plug in. Instead there’s lots of file in the folder and I’m not sure which I upload?

    Ta v much,

    Karen

    Hi Karen,

The file you downloaded was a zip file. 🙂 Its name is wc-vendors-pro-v1.0.1.zip. That’s what you upload! 🙂

    Hi,

Sorry to impede on this thread. I also have a question regarding the shipping module.

Say the admin of a website was feeling generous and was willing to cover the cost of shipping to an extent is it possible for there to be one fixed flat rate shipping cost store wide no matter how many different vendors the customer purchases from?

e.g. Galaxy s6 sold by Samsung who have a shipping rule of £5.00
iPhone 6s sold by Apple who have a shipping rule of £5.00
This should have a £10 overall shipping cost during checkout.
However, admin sets fixed £5.00 fee for shipping no matter how many products/different vendor product is purchased from.

    Look forward to your response.

    Many Thanks,
    Jawad

Sure, I believe that would be Woo’s Flat Rate Shipping that’s free with WooCommerce already. Nothing special needed at all! 🙂

    Hi Ben and Jamie,

As I have some Vendors who don’t post outside their own country, will the shipping module accommodate them?

    Many thanks,

    Karen

Yup! The vendors can specify the countries they ship to.
