    Hey all,

Our client has been having issues with vendors uploading images that are not in the correct orientation and they’re having to edit those images on the backend themselves manually (time consuming for admin). Can we “turn on” the image editing and deleting in the media library for the vendors? This will help vendors that are uploading the wrong images and give them the ability to rotate images/crop for vendors that are not uploading in the correct orientation/format?

    Hello,
I will see if there is a permission just for this, however I suspect that in order to allow vendors this capability, they would ALSO be able to edit, see and manipulate ALL images in the wp media library for your site- an admin privilege that would then have security implications.
The wp image edit is a fairly new capability so I will need to research this..

We had this same problem and I found a way to quickly resolve it. Every morning I go in and delete all images that were added that don’t meet our site specifications. When they see all those images disappear they learn pretty quickly that they need to follow our rules.

You can do this very easily – Just go to admin dash, then go to the Enter New Product page. Click the Add Media button and you’ll see all the images in your site’s library. Click on each image and you’ll see its size and specs. Then you can delete if it doesn’t conform. You can check a few hundred images in just a few minutes.

    Chiara,
I do believe we had discussed this in another forum thread-
Jamie is looking into whether these capabilities can be added to the vendor’s media library.
Please instruct your vendors to edit photos before uploading to your site.
