NOTICE: We've Moved to a Ticket System for Support

As of August 31, 2017 (12am EST) our support forums will be retired (read-only), and we will be moving to a support ticket system.  This will allow us to better organize and answer support requests, and provide a more personalized experience as we assist our customers.

    When the item is marked back to “Mark shipped” – Another email is sent — It’s 1 dimensional meaning the email says its been shipped when it could of been unshipped. Any suggestions on this? Or is this is the way it’s suppose to work?

    You can disable the email entirely, in WooCommerce / Settings / Emails, and you can customize the email template in any way you wish. The way it works is working as intended…

    Yes I agree.

    I’m not looking to disable the email – I want the communication to exist. But clicking on the shipped link over and over will send the same email, instead of having some logic in place that will not send another email to anyone. It’s important for the customer to know and also the site owner to know. I think this feature could be enhanced. Just a suggestion Ben.

    Aah, I see. If you click it multiple times, it sends multiple emails.

    That’s working as intended. Think of it this way — Sometimes my customers dont get the email. It can be in their spam folder, maybe they typo’d their email address, whatever… If you disable this button from working a second time, how would I re-send emails to buyers when I need them to see that particular email again?

    I think the correct fix for this is to tell vendors not to click the same button a dozen times? 🙂

    Yes I agree – But if the item is “not-shipped” and the vendor clicked it as “shipped” and attempts to unship, returning it back to the original state, another email is sent, the same email of it being shipped. Then they ship and the email is sent again.

    Hey I’m not trying to be a box anchovies over it, but I think you get the idea. I know it’s not 100% perfect and I know enhancements are welcome. I think many of us on here have a “passion” for this plugin and we want to make it better than what it is.

    But yes it works as it should – just found it could be tweaked, I will do the custom work on my end.

    The vendor makes a mistake, marks item as shipped. You want to send the customer an email saying “Sorry, the vendor fucked up, your item isnt shipped yet, we were just kidding! :)”. If you are up for writing that functionality in, we’d be happy to add it to the source code. 🙂

    I think perhaps an even better solution would be to add a button in addition to “Mark Shipped” that would “Send Customer a Message” and allow the vendor to type in a specific custom message each time. That way they can say “Hi, thanks for your order, your item is on backorder and it will ship in 3 days”, or “Howdy, FedEx Tracking # ABCD1234”. Would that be a better solution?

    Hell ya! There needs to be more functionality in the back-end – Glad you caught my wind.

    I’m making a list of items for enhancements and will add to your other section of the site for suggestions.

    I will get my love over to Github, also I think many of use should connect via a teleconference or some other means of making things happen.

    (I know out of text on the topic on my behalf)
