    Hello,

I was about to post this as a job on Freelancer. But thought come straight here instead. So think of this as a paid job. I will pay someone hopefully an expert to do the following.

    I have a current WP site http://www.magicprince.com.au

I want to tap into the jumping castle market. But rather than hire out my own jumping castles I’d like to be a directory for other hire companies. I think WC Vendors might be the solution. Ive downloaded it (free version) but I have very little WP experience. In fact I’m a cabinetmaker this is becoming a hobby. Hopefully to earn a passive income.

So this is what I need:

My existing site to host vendors and thier jumping castles for hire.
Each vendor is in charge of thier own products, images, description and price.
Bookings for thier inflatables would be taken through mysite. I then receive the commision. (This was the reason I first got stuck setting up WC Vendor, seems that the reverse of this procedure is the only option)
Customers can search by products, vendors but most importantly by location using a map. I realise theres a 3rd party addon for this.

Thats the foundation of my concept. Pretty straight forward. The rest of the options I should be able to figure out in settings. But It’s mainly a “Customer books a jumping castle from a vendor in their location type site” If thers the ability for the customer to save a favorite vendor or product to compare that would be great also. Think Airbnb, very similar I guess. Only for jumping castles and inflatables.

For me to research and do all of the above will hurt my head. Besides Im better at making cabinets. If your price is reasonable please contact me [email protected] It will take you a fraction of the time to do. Im getting lazier in my old age.

    Hey Sonny,

For this, you’d need WC Vendors Free + WC Vendors Pro ($149) + WC Vendors Pro Bookings Integration ($0 for the first 30 days its for sale, after that it’s $49 to new customers). But this requires software not written yet, because Pro v1.4.0 is not ready, nor is Bookings integration.

Once those ARE done, it’s really somewhat routine to do what you want. Keep an eye on your email — Once Pro v1.4.0 + Bookings support is ready (weeks not months!) then we can happily begin on this project with you if you hired us. If you choose to use Freelancer now, they’d probably give you a multi-thousand-dollar quote because they really need all the stuff we’re putting in v1.4.0 + bookings to actually do what you want, and they’d have to write it all from scratch. So using us probably saves a lot of money, or at the least, wait till v1.4.0+bookings.

Once those are out, bump this thread, happy to help.

    Thanks Ben,

Im happy to wait. Can you possibly email me with an estimate for this, I need to know whether it will be worth pursuing in the first place. Every idea I come up with to make money fails to launch, I just want to know how much I’m going to lose this time. 🙂

    Regards

I forgot — You do need the WC Vendors Maps plugin from Philopress as well, that’s $49, too.

But in all seriousness, the software does what you want it to do. You’d only really need to pay us to configure your site for you, if that is what you wanted us to do. And that’s at the hourly rate of $49/hr. You’re not looking at an expensive project, by any means, however if you’d like to give us money for doing nothing we would happily take it and salute you! 🙂 🙂 Figure a couple hundred bucks at best for all the setup/tweaks/tests and that’s about it on top of the actual plugins costs.

    Thanks Anna,
I’m a cabinetmaker with a small idea only. As per my original request (POST) I’d like to pay the professionals to set this up for me. Can I arrange that through you guys please? Basically setting up the whole thing, integrating all the modules then handing it over to me. I realize there are costs involved but what wil take you several hours will take me several days. I’m to old or lazy to learn new things. Just let me know what you require from me.

Sure! I think we can get it set up for you. I’d be glad to work with you.
Are there any additional needs aside from what is mentioned above?
Also I would have to check out the WC Vendors Maps plugin to make sure it is still working properly, as I am not sure when it was last updated and that is a third party plugin.

    Hi Anna,

Seems you are to busy. Is there another support staff who can help me continue this job. I’ve purchased the 3 modules that you asked. I’ve emailed you and skyped you but looks like you’ve forgotten about me 🙁

Anyone at WC Vendors reading this can you please help?

    Anna, Ben, anyone?

Not sure whats happening but after purchasing Woocommerce bookings, WC Vendors Pro, WOO Commerce Bookings integration and the initial hour of support. Communication has stopped by Anna completely. No replies to my skype messages. The last I heard from Anna was on the 29th May. She requested I increase the upload limit to my site. That was done almost immediately. No communication or updates since then……. I don’t want this in a public thread, unfortunatley there is no email option to discreetly make myself heard here. But I do notice Anna you are actively replying to other peoples posts. Also please don’t say your skype isnt working. You’re the IT expert here. Actually even if you have that excuse, how about following up with me to finish the job? If youre having a problem, let me know. At least say something.

    Hello,
Thank you for staying in touch.
I can be contacted via the email address I provided while we set-up the hour of support on your site: [email protected]
I did provide & complete the initial hour of support which you paid for (thank you!) by updating a good portion of your site and plugins, configuring WC Vendors, & installing and configuring WC Vendors Pro, WooCommerce Bookings and WooCommerce Bookings integration.
The WC Vendors Maps plugin is not working so that option is no longer available. It has not been updated to be compliant with WooCommerce 3.0, therefore it is not working at all- so I did not install that on your site.

I ensured that your WC Vendors settings were all arranged properly.

At this time, you will need to decide if you wish to continue with the structure of your site as it is- the theme needs and update, which I cannot complete since I did not purchase the theme, and you’ll need to arrange the menus and pages on your site so that they show the links to the dashboard.

I was just hired on full time at WC Vendors, and my work is increasing here. So I will not be able to undertake the additional work you will need done on your site.
I can give you a brief overview of what will need to be done to get your started, however:

    1. Update your theme. It is very outdated at this time. If you do not, there are parts that will bot work properly with the new WooCommerce versions.

    2. Arrange your site menus to show the Pro Dashboard and a login area for your vendors and users to login & register. Send them to the my-account page to login & register. I may have already done this.. I believe I added one menu column to your main menu..

    3. At this time there is nothing on your front page to indicate that you are a marketplace- so you may wish to redesign your front page for incoming customers and potential vendors

    4. For the Maps option you had desired for your site- I am not sure how you will progress with this option now that the Maps plugin is not working. I did send a message to the author of that plugin but I have not heard back yet regarding whether it will be updated. I know the Social Marketplace theme has some geo-location functions built-in that may interest you, so you could consider discussing that possibility with BuddyBoss and take a look at the Social Marketplace theme: https://www.buddyboss.com/product/social-marketplace/

    5. There is not a SHOP link on your front page for visitors to access the website shop/marketplace to buy products.

I regret that I cannot add the remaining 4+ hours for your site customization to my workload at this time- but coinciding with the request for your site custom work I have now been given added responsibilities here at WC Vendors, and my time is extremely limited. I have stopped taking on ANY new projects due to my full time position.

I will absolutely answer any specific questions or help guide you the best I can as you work with WC Vendors on your site if you contact me with questions in the forums here as the other users do, or if you wish to email me- though the forums are better for WC Vendors support.

For custom work we often send our users to codeable.io https://codeable.io as the devs there are knowledgeable with WooCommerce and some with WC Vendors as well. They can talk with your and provide a quote if you desire additional custom work done to your site.

Thank you, Sonny. Your WC Vendors and WC Vendors support will continue here, for sure- but I simply cannot take on the additional payment or time for any additional custom work on your site at this time.

    Thanks for a reply.

So now I’m left at the midway point, can I ask a few questions…

As I was told initially in the above posts purchasing a few plugins and paying for a few hours of support would accomplish my task. Now Im left holding the ball at what seems the midway point. If I hire a third party to continue it may get even more of a mess. Anna I realize you are busy, but isn’t there anyone else here that is an expert and who can take over this job? If so cant you please pass on this job? If not… If hire another person to take over, I don’t even know what to ask for, can they come to this thread and ask you guys advice if they get stuck?

    Hello,
I did indeed complete the work that you had paid for me to do; as the plugins you had needed are installed and configured. I actually took additional unpaid time to ensure also that your site is all updated and ready, and the links were added to your menus so that the vendor pages can be accessed. WC Vendors and WC Vendors Pro, WooCommerce, WooCommerce Bookings and our WooCommerce Bookings Integration plugins have all been configured and are working properly on your site.

I am not able to take on the additional specialized customization at this time; the original conversation that you had with Ben did NOT take into account that your site needed to be updated, your theme needs and update, and that the location services you want to be included will not be possible using the method that he had originally thought. Custom code will need to be written to provide the location search, maps and locality features you would like available on your site for the customers and vendors.

I will be glad to work with any dev that you find to help guide your or your developer to any necessary files, hooks, filters or other information that may be needed for your custom work. Please do either direct them to this thread, or have them contact em via email using the email we used to communicate when working on your customer request, and I will be glad to assist.
