hello, i’ve set up the app credentials as suggested in your knowledge base but whenever i go to the checkout im getting “This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient’s website and try again.” message?

    Most likely:

1.) PayPal has your site configured wrong on THEIR end

2.) You have your site configured wrong on YOUR end

If you’re using Sandbox mode, try with Live mode. Sometimes PayPal’s sandbox can be a bit flaky according to Google Search Results.

Whatever it is, the WC Vendors is working, because it’s returning an error message specifically from PayPal, which means you and PayPal are talking to each other but something’s up with the credentials.

PayPal telephone support is also handy sometimes — A lot faster than email.

Thank you for your fast reply! As always very efficient 🙂 My app is only conditionally approved, do i have to wait for it to be “approved”?

I’ve found that the live gateway works with an app that’s conditionally approved. My problem was the invalid paypal address for the vendor. I want to say I’m surprised PayPal can’t even spit out a proper error code, but I’m not surprised at all.

It would be handy to mention the valid paypal address only thing and the flaky sandbox gateway on this page:
