I’m currently looking into the PayPal Adaptive Payment module that is used to process IPN payments to PayPal.

We are currently only testing with Sandbox enabled, but why does it not allow automatic refunds (screenshot)? Does this only work on Live API transactions with an APP ID?

Also, what makes your PayPal Adaptive different from the WooCommerce Adaptive extension?https://woocommerce.com/products/paypal-adaptive-payments/

They also appear to charge for a license (for updates). Is the module compatible with WC Vendors?

The difference between Woo’s Adaptive Payments, and ours, is really pretty easy.

    1.) Ours is free

2.) Ours only works with WC Vendors.

Easy as that. If you want your vendors to get paid via adaptive payments, and for commissions to be accurate, only ours will work.

Ok great – thanks for clarifying that 🙂

Any idea on the automatic refunds side? Does it work with Sandbox or only Live?

Pretty sure you cant reserve yourself a button that would deduct money from a vendors account and admins account, no possibility of that being added any time in the near future. ;0

Sorry – reviving this topic again.

The site has gone live now and the money is currently held by the site owner (not the vendor) and the refund button is still grey.

Is there something missing that disables automatic IPN refunds?

    Any help with this please?

None yet. We will never update PayPal Adaptive Payments for new features. They are retiring it entirely, so spending *any* time on it we might as well do something productive instead. When they decide what they are retiring AP in favor for, we’ll focus on that, instead. I know this is kindof a weird reply versus what you were probably expecting, but hey, that’s what I got for ya 🙂 🙂 🙂

Just got a response on this from PayPal tech support:

“Thank you for contacting PayPal Merchant Technical Support. I am happy to assist with your question.
I certainly understand the confusion. Although parallel payments is deprecated, limited applications are being approved. You may certainly submit an app and see if you are approved. If you are not approved, you may want to check with the plug in and see if they will be making updates to change the process or find another plug in to meet your needs.”

So it looks like they are now being picky on who they allow to use the paralleled payments and if they decide your app isnt worth it this feature is useless.

Personally i would recommend useing the wc vendors stripe connect plugin. Stripe works very similar to paypal and the fees are exactly the same. Plus stripe has much better customer support and is more willing to work with developers.
