    Hello guys!

I’ve added a couple of products on my site using the pro dashboard and, oh boy, it rocks! I’m geeking out 🙂

Now I wish to add a few suggestions/feedback you can use in the next releases, if you’re willing to listen, of course 🙂

    Here it goes…

    1. Redirect to products page when a new product has been added.
Currently, the pro dashboard doesn’t redirect the user to any page when they submit a product, but instead, it clears out the fields in the form and displays a confirmation message.

That’s wonderful, except, it would be much better if the vendor is redirected to the main products or dashboard overview section when he adds a new product. Otherwise, it’s just confusing and kinda useless to stay on the same page and wonder what the empty form is for. 🙂

    2. Question: Show parent categories of sub-categories in Category search mode?
Some of us may have duplicate sub-categories that are children to different parents on our websites.

Example: There may be two Casual Shoes sub-categories, one for Men’s Shoes and another for Women’s Shoes.

The problem with the above example is when you add a product and type the sub-category name for it to save time, the dropdown menu would show you both results and no additional information on the parent category (ie. 2 x Casual Shoes). So you can’t really tell which sub-category belongs to which parent category.

A possible fix is to give unique names to sub-categories, like Men’s Casual Shoes and Women’s Casual Shoes, but I was wondering if there is something else that can be done to avoid renaming.

    3. Sale schedule resets every time you edit a product
It’s not a big deal, but I’ve noticed that the sale schedule would go away every time you edit a product, which leaves your item with the regular price. I always forget to set the sale price again, thinking it’s saved by default.

Can you make it so the plugin remembers your selection?

    4. Expandable product description box and SKU field
I’ve mentioned these in a previous post. Listing them here is just a formality. 🙂

Thank you for reading my comments!

    Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your feedback, I’m busily working on the next release for both free and pro (hopefully in the next day or so) and I’ll try and get as many features crammed into the release before it goes out.

    1. I agree, I’ll add an option in the settings page to allow people to choose between redirect back to products page or view the published product.

    2. I agree that it could be displayed a little bit better and I’ll have a think about it, It is indented but the select style could use a little work.

    3. That sounds like a bug and I’ve added it to my to investigate and fix list.

    4. Not really sure what you mean by expandable ? There are filters you can hook into to make the product description box bigger if you want? And I’ve already fixed SKU field (it actually shows up now) and will be available in the next release.

I’ve also made pro respect all features selected in free on the products tab so that both free and pro will disable/enable the same features on the product edit screen now.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hey Jamie!

Glad to know you’ll consider my comments for future releases! Don’t mean to impose in any way 🙂

The function that allows one to find a particular category by writing its name is amazing! Maybe I was a bit too hasty with that comment. I would say it’s more of an organization issue on my part. I already renamed all duplicate categories, which immediately fixed the problem. But if it is possible to improve the way search results are displayed in the category section even further, it would be awesome!

As for the product description box, by “expandable” I meant the ability to pull it by the corner and resize it just like the text editor used on your site to write this post. The previous version used to have this feature, I think.

If I can just make it bigger like you said, that would also work perfectly! 🙂 How do I do that?

P.S. The free version is unbelievable. It’s packed with tons of features and updated quite regularly. It is actually the reason I chose to wait for the Pro and purchase my license from WCVendors, instead of going with another premium plugin, which shall remain nameless. WCVendors has my full love and support!
