    Hi there,

I can’t find out how to use the Pro Dashboard for my vendors. Could you please help me out. I don’t know what to put where, I’m confused because of the general and the pro dashboard and the fact that it says this: DO NOT USE EXISTING DASHBOARD PAGE HERE. What do I put into the Pro Dashboard?

Hope you can help me out.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Rebecca,

If the page under Pro says “Pro Dashboard” — You’re doing great! 🙂 When you go to http://www.yourdomain.com/dashboard/ that is where you send vendors to manage their account and products.

    Cheers

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for your quick reaction. When I log in as a vendor I’m just seeing the old vendor dashboard from the free version, instead of the Pro Dashboard I would like to see.

    Do you have any idea?

Also, when I go to a vendor store, the page isn’t just like the pages i saw in the setup-guide. You can see it in the enclosure.

    Kind regards

    Hi Rebecca,

If you are still going to the old vendor dashboard, you just need to update your WordPress menus and remove the Vendor Dashboard link and replace it with the Pro Dashboard page link.

For the theme layouts, we fixed that last night, and will have it pushed out as an update here shortly.

    Cheers

    Hi Ben,

I searched for the Pro Dashboard page, copied the url and logged in with a vendor account. It still has the old look. I also don’t know where to change Pro Dashboard in the menu, I can’t find the old dashboard anywhere.

    Hi Ben,
I found out how it works. I have to make sure vendors can’t see the wp-admin. Other than that, I’m not able to upload photo’s or a header as a vendor. I hope that, if i update the WC Vendor Pro version to 1.05, the problem is solved.

I also saw that I have WC Vendor Pro 1.04 instead of 1.05. I was wondering if there’s an easy way to update this version so that the settings won’t get lost. My wordpress site doesn’t give an update so I have to do that manually but there’s a warning that the upload_max_filesize is bigger than the php.ini. Could you help me out updating the new version?

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca v. Twillert

    Hi Rebecca,

To upgrade from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5 is quite easy. GO to your installed plugins page, deactivate and delete WC Vendors Pro. Then, Add New plugin, and upload the 1.0.5 zip file. Activate. Done! 🙂 All of your settings are stored in the database so nothing is lost whatsoever. Should take you about 60 seconds from start to finish. 🙂

    Cheers

    Hi Ben,

I upgraded the plugin but sadly I had to fill in the settings all over again. Unfortunately I’m still not able to upload photo’s or a header/icon as a vendor. Could you help me out with that?

There’s also another question: when I go to the pro vendor store page, there’s a sidebar with archives and meta, I was wondering if I can turn these off anywhere, because we don’t use these sidebars in our shop so there’s no content when you click on it.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi Rebecca,

We’re adding in extra functionality to disable the sidebars and things like that on the Vendor Store pages. For now, they inherit your themes layou

Any time you update WC Vendors or WC Vendors Pro all your settings should be intact since they are already in your database. It’s weird that they got reset for you, I’m not sure why as I’ve never had that happen before.

For the header/icon as a vendor, in your screenshots you do have them already set, so I’m not sure what you mean by they don’t work, since in your screenshot, they are there. Help me out, explain this one a little more if you could please… 🙂

    Hi Ben,

Great to hear that there will be an extra functionality to disable the sidebars.

About the header/icon: i set the header in my own admin into the vendor stores. When I function as a vendor I’m not able to set a header or icon, because I’m not able to upload photo’s. When I click on ‘Add Store Icon’ i’m being reffered to the top of the page, there is no possibility to upload a photo or icon. I’m also not able to upload a featured image or product gallery image.

Maybe I can setup a Vendor account for you so you can check it out? I hope to hear from you soon!

I would like to thank you for all your support!

    Hi Rebecca,

Switch to the TwentyFifteen theme, and see if that allows you to upload the Store Icon or Banner. If the answer is yes, then your theme is overriding the media library scripts to add media. Let me know.

    Hi Ben,

I’m not able to switch to the TwentyFifteen theme, our webshop is visited well and has a lot of custom coding so I’m not able to switch that easily. I think what you’re saying is right, but I would like it to work so are you guys able to make this plugin work for my theme: The Retailer. After all my company paid 100 dollar for this plugin and my boss is getting annoyed that it doesn’t work.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Rebecca,

Your theme is coded to be incompatible with WooCommerce in general. The theme developer has injected HTML and their own PHP into Woo Templates, which causes plugins like ours who hook into those templates to look poor. Three choices:

1.) Tell the theme author to rewrite their archive-products.php to use the WooCommerce hooks/filters, instead of manually hacking in code. (Best choice, since this is a theme developer problem, they are doing things sooooooo wrong it’s not even funny).

2.) Follow this KB article and fix the templates yourself: https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/pro-store-layout-fixes/

3.) Toss some cash our way ($75-$100) for the labor to re-code the templates for your site.

    Hi Ben,

We’re having troubles with the commissions in the WC-Vendor plugin. Before, everything worked fine: we had a percentage fee of 90% and a fixed fee of 0,75 cent. But it doens’t seem to work anymore. We created a intern vendor account to see how everythings works with payments. But when an order comes in, the commission isn’t counted well. The commission subtotal is the same price as the productprice. There are also no new amounts in the commissions tab since december 8th, but we did have a lot of ‘vendor orders’ in our intern account. Maybe it’s because of an update that it stopped working.

Hope you can help me out because if this doens’t work, we can’t go live with our marketplace.

    Kind regards,

How are you calculating commissions? Are you using your own filter for them? Show me the commission settings. PS — Please dont use private reply unless it actually contains sensitive details.

    Hi Ben,

Here is a screenshot of our commissions settings.
I’m not sure what to choose when I’m editing a Vendor Store. We want to use these general commissions settings as a default so I left the Store Commission empty. Is that the right thing to do? Because it doens’t say ‘default’.

The commissions are still not shown in our Commissions tab.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca van Twillert

The screenshot you show is of the global commission rate, which applies to all vendors, unless you specifically set a vendors store to use a different rate, or unless you specifically set a product to use a different rate.

The reason you probably are seeing $0 for commissions, is you have to use periods, not commas, for the commission fee. 🙂

    0,75 = BAD

    0.75 = GOOD

    Hello Ben,

Thank you for your reaction. I tried the period instead of a comma. When I press save, the period turns into a comma. That doens’t seem right to me.

Besides that, when we receive an order with our test vendor account, the commission shown is the whole product price, instead of the 90% commission and 0.75 fixed fee that we have set in the settings.

I included a screenshot to show you.

Another thing which I mentioned before, is that the orders aren’t visible at the commissions tab. The last order that is shown is from December 8. Do you have any idea why this happens?

I hope you can help me out, we really want this plugin to work since we paid $100 for it and we’re already waiting for a month for it to work!!! Hoping to hear from you soon.

Wow, that site was a mess. 🙁

1.) Your memory limit is 40MB and you’re running out of memory on a lot of pages. Bump up your memory to 128MB.

2.) You had no Permalinks configured for WooCommerce. Most plugins wont even work with that configuration. Your permalinks have been set properly now (wp-admin > Settings > Permalinks)

3.) You had pages missing in your WooCommerce and WC Vendors Pro configurations. Now all pages are set properly.

4.) You had 5 shipping plugins being used, none of which can work together. I disabled all except WC Vendors Pro Vendor Shipping. You can not use per product shipping with advanced shipping with advanced free shipping with free shipping AND Vendor Shipping. Pick one. 🙂

I created a test vendor account (benvendor) and made a test product (Test is the name of it) and then I purchased it using the WC Vendors Test Gateway (now disabled, only enabled to test orders). The commission logs perfectly, and the prices look perfect, too.

Now everything appears to work on your site.

Next time you run into issues:

https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/ will often tell you the most useful tricks.

https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/read-before-requesting-support/ you should follow this guide ANY time you had a problem, if you did, you would have discovered all the issues on your own.

If you still see anything that’s not working, follow the guide above, test, and report back any issues you still see.

    Hi Ben,

Thank you for checking out our website and helping us making it better. We really appreciate that.
I understand that we use a lot of different shipping plugins. Our regular shipping (for our own products) is based on weight (with the advanced shipping plugin) and we’re also using free shipping that WooCommerce offers so our customers can use a coupon for free shipping. Is this all possible with the Vendor Shipping plugin? If it’s possible we can get rid of all the other shipping plugins.

Besides the shipping I noticed that the Commissions Tab works again, that’s great. We can now see a summery of all our orders that include commission. The one thing that doesn’t work is the commission amount. We set our commission at 90% and 0.75 fixed fee but the amounts don’t match. So I’m going to test with only 90% percent commission instead of an percentage and fixed fee. I hope this works out.

    Looking forward to your answer.

    Kind regards

For shipping, I know you cant use Per Product Shipping or Table Rate Shipping with WC Vendors Pro — WHEN Vendor Shipping is active. Other shipping plugins could be just fine, you just have to do your due diligence and test it. 🙂

Make sure your commission rate is “90” and the fee is set to “.75”. No special $ or % characters, just the whole number. 🙂

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for the update, everything is working better now, very nice!
Question: is the 0,75 cent fixed fee with or without (in- or exclusive) tax?

We’re calculating everything now but unfortenately we’re having some troubles with it. Hopefully we’ll figure it out because we really want to start using our vendor marketplace.

The $0.75 cent fee is a fixed fee, and ignores tax rules completely because it’s not part of a products price, it’s part of a commission you pay a vendor.

    Hi Ben,

We’re still having big problems with the commission and really need your help.
So we ordered a product by our test vendor account, you can see the order amounts and details in the screenshot.

As a vendor I receive an overview of the order with the commission amount. The commission subtotal is €24,15 but according to our calculation the amount we have to pay the vendor is €23,96. Then we looked into the commission tab and saw that the WC Vendor plugin calculated an commission of €25,46.

So now we’re completely clueless and really hope you can help us out, we can’t start with our marketplace when the commission isn’t calculated the right way, we don’t want to pay the vendors more than we have to.

Hope to hear from you soon

    Hi Ben,

We’re using different types of shipping plugins because our own webshop is based on weight. I don’t know if the Vendor Shipping provides this kind of shipping method? When I enable the Vendor Shipping and edit a Vendor Product I’m not able to change any shipping settings or set an amount for shipping.

We’re willing to only use Vendor Shipping as a shipping method, but I want to be sure everything works ok, also for our admin account. Or do we have to become a vendor to work with this shipping plugin?

Honestly I really hope you can help us with some extensive support since we’re trying to make this WC Vendor plugin work for quite some time now and my boss and I are getting irritated because we can’t seem to fix it for our customers and third parties. We really want to start with our market place but when the commission isn’t right we’re unable to start.

    Hope to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Hi Rebecca,

Vendor Shipping is either Flat Rate per product price ($x) or Country Table rate (US > FL = $5, US > NY = $6, etc…). Each shipping rate is per product, and weight calculations do not come into the calculations.

For admin products, your admin products would need their own vendor account. We’ll be adding the shipping settings to the individual wp-admin product display in a future release so you can configure the shipping settings per product there, too.

So you’re saying that the commission will only be correct if we use the Vendor Shipping plugin? I can’t seem to find your answer to that question.

So I was wondering if there’s a possibility to set a fixed amount as national shipping per vendor. For example: I want my customers to pay 3,95 euro as a total for all the products they order in my vendor shop.

Or will this be possible in a next update?

    Hi Ben,

So I we became a vendor in our marketplace because otherwise the commission, shipping and all that wouldn’t work properly. But now we’re looking at another problem: we set up the PayPal Adaptive Payment and now we want to pay all our vendors, but not our own vendor because that’s a big amount of money and we have to pay a fee over that amount when we use PayPal. Is there a way to get rid of this amount in the Commission Tab or can you do that for us?

I also selected the fixed fee for our vendoraccount and filled 0 in, hope it works and that we don’t have to pay commission to our own vendoraccount anymore. Hope you can help us out!

    Rebecca,
    I *think* I am understanding your question….

Can you just go to your vendor(you, or whatever account you are trying to make sure you do not have to pay commissions to…???) and set the commission to “0”?

Update to the most recent wc vendors free and wc vendors pro before doing this. There were a few bugs with the admin commissions and shipping settings that have been fixed. Update and then try setting your OWN vendor to “0” commissions, and see if that solves your issue.

    Hello,

If you just need to set your vendor to say paid for existing owed commissions you can just go to the commission screen, select your vendor username and bulk action mark as paid. That will stop paypal from trying to pay yourself.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hi Jamie,

We’re using the Vendor Pro plugin for quite some time now and I have a few questions recording to the tax on the Pro Dashboard:
    – Why isn’t the tax displayed on the Pro Dashboard overview? We only see the order total and shipping costs. Do we have to change a setting or something?
    – In the order details our ‘Tax’ is called ‘Artikelen’ which is very odd, it means products in Dutch and has nothing to do with tax. Can we change this somehow?

One of our vendors logs in with her own login details but sees the store of other vendors. How is this possible? She doesn’t now the login details of other vendors so that’s really strange…

I’m looking forward to your reaction.

    Hello Rebecca,

    – Why isn’t the tax displayed on the Pro Dashboard overview? We only see the order total and shipping costs. Do we have to change a setting or something?

You’d have to create a function to display the order tax, then add a column to that table to display your function on the front-end in the table on the dashboard.

    – In the order details our ‘Tax’ is called ‘Artikelen’ which is very odd, it means products in Dutch and has nothing to do with tax. Can we change this somehow?

You could change the translation using the .po files and POEdit: https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/language-support/

One of our vendors logs in with her own login details but sees the store of other vendors. How is this possible? She doesn’t now the login details of other vendors so that’s really strange…

This is weird… have you edited the vendor role at all? Are you certain that this vendor has the correct vendor role from WC Vendors? (did you have another marketplace plugin installed at one time which also had a vendor role?)
Try re-setting the vendor and pending vendor roles:
wp admin > woocommerce > system status > tools : Reset WC Vendors Roles

Let me know if that corrects the issue…
