    Hi the team,

I like the enthusiasm of yours for WC vendors.

I am trying to figure it out if wc vendors+ stripe are suited for my needs before purchase (i learned from buying first and thinking after LOL)

I have a question regarding refund.

Here is what i can read in Stripe doc:

    Refunding Fees

When a charge is refunded, the end customer will always be refunded the full amount of the charge. Stripe will never automatically refund the application fee: you must explicitly refund the application fee, or your connected user—the account on which the charge was created—will eat the cost of the fee.

You can refund application fees incurred by your application in several ways:

    From the dashboard.
Upon refunding a charge (passing refund_application_fee will refund the application fee proportional to the amount of the charge refunded, as of December 3, 2013).
    Using the application fees API.

1/ Does it means that when a refund is processed, vendor refunds the whole amount of the sale from vendor dashboard (admin percent/fee + vendor commission) then admin has to refund the vendor for the admin percent/fee from admin dashboard ?

2/ How does refund works? I assume it is manually for the while. is it like this:
    – Customer email the vendor to get refund.
    – Customer send back product
    – Vendors gets back product
    – Vendors refunds customer from stripe dashboard
    – Vendors notify manually admin to set order as refund
    – Admin manually set order as refund from admin dashboard like explained here in woocommerce.
    – Admin refund vendor regarding the admin percentage/fee.
    ?

    thanks

    Hi Thomas,

1.) For Stripe refunds, you login to Stripe and process the refund. It is not handled on your website or the vendor dashboards.

    2.) Correct!

    Cheers

    hi,

I get the refund start from stripe dashboard. I was wondering if it was from admin one or vendor one? They have splitted payments and stripe refunds the whole sale not admin commission nor vendor commission alone. Does admin or also vendor can start refund on their own?

Anyway i would see when buying the plugin 🙂

    Hey Thomascz,

Have you been able to figure this out?

Do both Stripe accounts have to initiate refunds, or just one? If so, which one?

    Thanks!

I’m not entirely sure, this would be a great thing to test with your sandbox mode. Stripe refunds are not handled on your website, but Stripes website, so if you find an answer post it up here to help other members

    Hi all,

I recently contacted Stripe and they have said that the vendor can initiate the refund then there is a way of creating a web hook to automatically notify the site owner that the vendor portion has been refunded and to prompt the site owner to process the site’s commission.

Here is the link they sent me. It doesn’t really mean much to me but I was going to contact you Ben to see if its something that could be added to the stripe plugin…pretty please?? It would be a super-useful addition otherwise there is a lot of manual emailing that needs to be done.

    thanks

Thanks for looking into this, @PipCambers

+1 for having this integrated into the plugin. This will be something I’ll have to work in somehow, as I am sure the vendors would like to know what is going to occur in the event of a cancelled order or return.
