    Hi Everyone,

Wondering if it is possible to let the user add a second category for a product.

We are using front end pro. Currently the user selects from an ajax drop down for category selection then the sub cat drop down appears and so on.

So I tried duplicating the category field in the form to create an optional second category choice and just unchecked the “required” option. My theory being that if two were selected it would be entered into both.

However front end when I tried it the main category dropdown was still working but the secondary one did not populate the dropdowns with the category choices.

    Is a second category possible????

    Ideas appreciated.

By nature, dropdowns cant be multi selects. You want to enable the multi instead of dropdown, that’ll fix your problem.

Ewww both the other options are horrid we have WAY too many cats and sub cats for those talk about sore on the eye. Plus it does not force them to choose sub cats like ajax does.

Might be worth a word with front end pro to see if it is possible to double the field. Kind of how ebay works.

For now they will have to be happy with one category.

we finally have the site up and running Ben thanks for all your help 🙂

Have a look see there are listings now.

Yea, WeDevs would have to provide a better solution for that, for sure. I dont like how their multiple category checkboxes display either, it takes up so much space on the screen.

Congrats on your site opening. Dashboard looks great! Very clean and easy to understand.
