    Hi,
Does anyone have an idea what may be causing the Sold by: and the categories to not display in single product view?

It may be from the theme, but I’m not sure what part.

One way to find out! 🙂 Switch to the 2014 theme, and if it shows up that way, but not with your other theme, it’s the theme. 🙂

I though it would show, but it actually didn’t when I switched to 2014.
Any Idea where I can look to see if there may be a problem? Or what code to check for?

I have two options for single product view in the theme, and it shows in one of the options, but not in the other.

1.) If it shows in one of the options within your theme, but not the other, then it’s for certain a theme incompatibility.

2.) It should work just fine in the 2014 theme. I’ve run it on my live sites and on our WC Vendors dev site and confirms it looks good. If it isnt appearing in the 2014 theme, then it is most likely a plugin conflict.

The best practice to test is to disable all plugins but WooCommerce, WC Vendors, and try the default 2014 theme. If it works in there, it isnt the plugin, it’s you! 🙂

I’ll have a test with disabling the plugins. I had that happen before too, and got someone to fix it for me. Then I updated theme this morning and it happened again. The guy that fixed it first time said I’ll be fine updating the theme, but obviously not. Was trying to see if I can find out which part of the theme’s code communicates with the plugin to get that, but that may not be the best way to go. I’ll do the enable disable exercise, and go from there.

Ok, I deactivated all the plugins and only had woocommerce and WCV active. The sold by is still missing, tested with 2014, same thing.

It used to show up until i did an update on the theme, however, 2014 is not displaying it either, which is the odd part.

    Woocommerce is 2.1.9

Thanks, received the admin credentials, I logged in, and tested. I disabled all plugins except WC Vendors, and WooCommerce (ps., your running an old version of WC. Upgrade that!). I then changed the theme to 2014 and 2013 to try as well.

    The problem still persisted.

However, which is highly unusual, your custom theme is still loading files in WordPress even when its deactivated.

The net result? Your theme is doing it. Theme developer will have to fix.

    Thanks Ben,
Didn’t notice you were logged in, I was on it all day.
What you mean when you say theme is loading files when disabled?

Could that be because I was working on it all day, and maybe at the same time you were on?

What would I tell the developer when he asks what the problem is?

It was at 4pm Eastern Time (-0500) that I was on. For about 10-12 minutes or so.

I noticed when 2014 & 2013 were active that the Appearance menu had parts of that theme still in there. I forget the name of the theme now, its the one you currently use.

You’ll want to tell the theme developer “Hey! There should be Sold By: and Category: under the description tabs for each item. Something in the theme is conflicting with the hooks, not allowing WC Vendors to insert the information. It’s probably a “priority” issue for him, he will know what that means.

Ok I know exactly when you were on. I was away for a meeting and came back around 4EST and saw I be been logged out. Odd log back in and stayed logged up until 7pm was mainly working on the productsthough.
Do you think it can be fixed on a child theme level so I don’t lose the fix on the next update?
When I do any custom stuff I do it on the child to keep the main one as is.

Thank for your help Ben. This development is such a Cat and mouse game. The moment I fix something something else comes up.

    Good timing, then! 🙂

Yes — Always do theme changes via child themes. Any good theme developer will package their theme with a child theme by default to make updating easier and less prone to breaking things.

Quick update on this topic, in case someone is trying to rsolve, or looking into it.

As Ben states above, it did turn out to be theme issue.
I got it resolved with the theme developer. It was a siple change in the code, for single product. Nothing to do with the plugin.

Ben, Jamie, you can mark this one resolved.
