I am trying to set up a payment method. I am interested in the Stipe Commissions and Getaway. My only concern are refunds. If the vendor does not refund the customer (due to damaged item or not sending the product) then the admin is liable to come up with refund funds.

Has anyone found a good approach to this? Can I make it clear in the terms of purchase that it’s a strict transaction with the vendor and the admin will not be responsible to come up with funds in the event of an issue?

    Thank you for your time.

    Incorrect.

If your customer disputes a Stripe charge, your vendor is responsible and not you (the site admin). The site admin pays nothing for chargebacks, it’s wholly the vendors concern.

    That’s good news, thank you!

Therefore, in the event the vendor does not have funds or decides to disappear, Stripe will NOT expect the admin to come up with vendor’s refund funds.

That is correct. This is because it’s a Stripe Connected account, not a Stripe Managed Account. Your vendors simply connect their accounts to Stripe and they accept the liability with their agreement with Stripe. You’re off the hook!

Just waiting for my tax tables to be done before purchasing Stripe.

Thank you for the efforts in Vendor Bookings and for making it available for FREE (limited time).
