    Hey guys,

    Looks great.

How are the Stripe fees applied? For example, two vendors each sell $100 worth of products and their commission is 90%.

Does each party have to pay $0.3 + 2.9% per transaction?

    Thanks,

    Erik

That’s a great question! I’m not actually too sure about that. I’ve reached out to Stripe this morning for them to clarify it for me, and when they answer, I’ll update this post and the product listing.

Cool, it would be great if it was just applied once to keep the margins on smaller sale items up.

I tried this with PayPal in the past, but everyone having to pay a separate fee is a bummer.

It would also be good if the Stripe fee charged to the vendor was the same percentage as the commission.

    Thanks!!!

    Erik

Official Answer: For Stripe Fees – The vendor pays the Stripe fees. This is called the “application_fee” parameter of Stripe Connect. ( https://stripe.com/docs/connect/payments-fees )

1.) Buyer purchases an item for $100. Commission is set to 80% vendor 20% store admin in this example.

2.) Store admin receives exactly $20 in your Stripe Account. Vendor receives $80 minus their standard Stripe Fees.

In summary, site owners have no fees on their part of the commission. Vendor pays them all.

Okay, that’s cool. I like that.

Sorry to keep bugging you, but if two vendors make a sale in the same transaction, do they each pay the Stripe fee?

When I tried to do this in PayPal before, the first vendor would get stuck paying the fees for the second vendor, then they would have to reconcile the difference.

Eew, that sucks that PayPal did that to you.

The vendor only pays the fee for the vendors part of the order. They dont pay fees for other vendors. 🙂
