    Hi,

I have an issue with the commission not calculating but can’t see why/where it’s going wrong

    I have the following settings:
WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Tax Options > Prices Entered With Tax: Ticked
WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Standard Rate > Country Code GB and Rate 20%, Compound unticked and Shipping Ticked
WooCommerce > WC Vendors > General > Default Commission: 95%
WooCommerce > WC Vendors > General > Give vendors any tax collected per-product: Ticked
WooCommerce > WC Vendors > General > Give vendors any shipping collected per-product: Ticked
WooCommerce > WC Vendors > Commission > Type: Percentage and Commission: 95%

I then have a seller who added a product:
    Price £1
    Tax Status: Taxable
Tax Class: Standard (so should be 20% as per the above)
    Shipping: Free
    Shipping Class: No shipping Class

If you add the item to a basket, it shows as £1 (includes 0.17p VAT)
So this seems to be the first issue as it should be 20p?

If you then proceed to pay (PayPal) it shows the following:
    Vendor: 0.96p
    Site Admin: 0.04p
Again, this doesn’t tally as surely it should be:
    vendor: 0.95p
    site admin: 0.05p

I’m going mad as I can’t seem to work out where the issue is? Any help is very much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Hi @fervous

Just wondering if there was anything else I can try on the above?

    Thanks

    Ian,
Ok I will work on testing this.. I will try in US dollars first and then switch to UK if I cannot get this replicated.

In your testing, is this consistent? If you test with different values, different amounts and different vendors.. do you have the same results? Can you post a few more test values and results for me?

    Hi
I’ve tried adding another test product: Test Product

I’ve set the price to £500

    Vendor receives: £479.16 GBP
    Admin receives: £20.84 GBP

So although it’s close, it’s still not right as it should be 95% to vendor and 5% admin or £475 and £25 respectively

I wonder if somehow it’s the VAT that is causing the issue?

    Thanks

Ian, cna you disable VAT for a time and see if the calculations are at 95% and 5% as you expect?

    Hi Anna,

I disabled the tax and the results are now coorect:
    On the £500 item:
    Vendor
    £475.00 GBP

    Admin
    £25.00 GBP

    On the £1 item
    Vendor
    £0.95 GBP

    Admin
    £0.05 GBP

So is it down to how tax is calculated then commission calculated on top?

Is it therefore correct or is there an issue?

    Thanks

    Ian,
I think this is properly calculating –I am setting up a fresh development site, so I will do some testing.
It may be because you have both of these selected:
WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Tax Options > Prices Entered With Tax: Ticked
WooCommerce > Settings > Tax > Standard Rate > Country Code GB and Rate 20%, Compound unticked and Shipping Ticked
20% tax is being collected therefore for product and shipping; but you have stated that prices are set with tax included.
Therefore, I think that the commissions is being handled to reflect this.

Quite frankly this is all confusing until I actually sit down and run through some tests with the same configuration as you have.. lol.. so let me do that and see if it is calculating constantly and get the figures. 😉

    Well,

when you enter prices with tax and your tax rate is 20%. so it will not calculate 20% of 100. it will calculate 20% on 83.4 which totals up to 100.

“then have a seller who added a product:
    Price £1
    Tax Status: Taxable
Tax Class: Standard (so should be 20% as per the above)”

so here it calculates 20% of 83.4p (rounded off to 83p)… and gives 16.68p (rounded of to 17p) as an tax calculated hence correct…its correct.
