there is a themeforest theme that i’d like to use, it’s called Oswad

i’ve read a number of threads here that indicate that to use a woocommerce template, that template needs to be written in 100% woocommerce compliant code, meaning no woocommerce.php file (but wc vendors can now use a template even if it has the woocommerce.php file):

    /wp-content/themes/yourtheme/woocommerce.php
    /wp-content/themes/yourtheme-child/woocommerce.php

    explained in detail here:

    —-

i asked the author of the oswad theme specifically if a woocommerce.php file exists, and he said no. the comment goes on to say the following:

“Thank for contacting WPDance support team! Our theme don’t have woocommerce.php file, we only overrided woocommerce template (woocommerce derectory in theme).”

my question is: is overriding the woocommerce template as safe as it gets? the oswad template would work fine even with wv vendors free?

just trying to understand “overrided woocommerce template (woocommerce derectory in theme)” vs “don’t have woocommerce.php file”

meaning, does override (in this case) mean that they left the guys native and just dressed up the native template?

is that safe for wv vendors free (and presumably pro too)

    thanks

That theme should be fine. 🙂 What they mean is instead of having

    /themes/THE-THEME/woocommerce.php (BAD!)

    They have:

    /themes/THE-THEME/woocommerce/all/the/templates/done/right (GOOD!) 🙂 🙂
