    Hi Ben,

I’m relatively new to wordpress, but I have seen another forum participant use userpro for front-end product submissions with wc vendors. Would you be able to give me some suggestions on how I can customize userpro’s front-end publisher to enable vendors to add their own products?

    Hi Vaireus,

If by “userpro” you mean WP User Frontend Pro, then yes — go to the top of the site, click KnowledgeBase and there’s an article on how to do it. The plugin is a little crappy, it works but it requires a lot of tweaking to get it to work correctly. And the WPUF support team is *really* slow, if ever, at responding. There’s another plugin listed on the KB article that works pretty well, it’s just not really possible to integrate that one into your vendors dashboard like you can with WPUF. Check each out, and see which is best for you.

When WC Vendors Pro is released, and we’re about 80% done with the code for the first version of it so look around ~60 days, there will be a beautiful and functional front end editor built into the Vendor Dashboard by default. You might consider holding off on the other two plugins until Pro is released, and save yourself some cash. And also, since integration is automatic, there’s no code to write or forms to create, it just works, and it works well right out of the box.

So there, my friend, are your three choices. 🙂

    Cheers

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for the fast reply!

I guess I wasn’t being specific enough. I’m currently using this plugin: http://userproplugin.com/ to run an online community, but I’d like to set it up like a marketplace where user profiles are storefronts and each user is a vendor and has the ability to add / edit his/her own products. I’ve been looking through documentations for both WC Vendors and Userpro, and I found this post about customizing front-end submissions: (http://userproplugin.com/dxforum/docs/#shortcode_publish). Is there any way I could customize the post types to allow product submissions?

I’d like to have my site live as soon as possible, so I’m exploring alternatives for the time being. Definitely looking forward to switching to WC Vendors Pro once it’s released!

    Cheers,

    Leah

    Hi Leah,

I’ve never used Userpro, I’ve never installed it, don’t know the first thing about it. 😉 If you want Userpro to do something, would it not be best to ask *them* how to do it? After all, it is their plugin, not ours! 🙂

Userpro would have to allow you to publish custom post types from the front end. How would they do it? Beats the heck out of me. 🙂

I wish I had some better info for you, it’s just way outside our territory. 🙂

    Cheers

    Ben

No worries, thanks for your help!

I’ll try to reach out to the plugin authors and see what can be done.

    Cheers,

    Leah

If they provide a solution, feel free to post it up here too, that way if another member here is looking for something similar, it might help them, too!

    Hey there,

Firt post and I hope it’s a helpful one.

You can use UserPro Plugin to post a product, just use this shortcode:

    [userpro template=publish publish_heading="Create New Task" publish_button_primary="Create Task" post_type="product" post_meta="_price" post_meta_labels="Price" max_width="100%"]

You have to use the ‘post_meta’ attribute to add more product meta though.

    🙂
