Hi! I’m having an issue with Vendors being unable to connect their Stripe accounts via the Pro dashboard. I have all of my API keys and client IDs in place, and I’m live with both Stripe and the WooCommerce payment setting.
I’ve tested the issue myself under a test vendor account and received the same results as my actual vendors. When clicking the Connect Stripe button from the Pro Dashboard, the page redirects to the Stripe login/sign-up page appropriately. Once logged in or once an account is created, the page directs the user back to the Pro Dashboard settings, as this is the redirect URL I have in place. The issue arises when the user clicks on the payments tab to double check that the Stripe account has been connected; it doesn’t show that any account was connected.
I checked my Stripe Connect settings after attempting to connect through my site, and it also shows no other accounts connected.
If someone could help me out with this, I would appreciate it. It’s possible that I don’t have my settings correct somewhere, or that I’m missing a license key or something. I know that my Pro plugin is missing it’s license key because I don’t have that email anymore and I don’t see it in my orders dashboard here anymore either. This may have nothing to do with anything, but that’s how lost I am on this one, haha.
Thanks.

February 20, 2017 at 11:44 am #56910WC Vendors SupportParticipantThe issue arises when the user clicks on the payments tab to double check that the Stripe account has been connected; it doesn’t show that any account was connected.
What happens if they hit refresh/reload page? Does it then show? If YES, then it’s a cache issue with your browser or your webserver. If NO still shows not connected, let me know and we’ll proceed from there with a bunch of meta key / value checks.
February 20, 2017 at 11:45 am #56911WC Vendors SupportParticipantPS — You do realize as soon as you’ve sold 5 items and Stripe checks your website, they are going to close your Stripe accounts, yes? What you are selling is soooooooooooo far from allowed in their terms of service. 😉
February 20, 2017 at 12:34 pm #56914@CockyClubParticipantHi Ben,
The connection still does not update after refreshing.
I’ve done some digging on Stripe’s policies and you are correct, they have this to say under their prohibited services area:
“Pornography and other obscene materials (including literature, imagery and other media); sites offering any sexually-related services such as prostitution, escorts, pay-per view, adult live chat features”
Looks like I need to find another plug-in and merchant account to make this site happen. Sigh…
I’d still like to know how to fix my issue with this plugin, however, because I may use it on another “allowed” site that I have an idea for.
Thanks!
February 20, 2017 at 12:38 pm #56915WC Vendors SupportParticipantOf course! Here’s how to test the next step. When a user connects to Stripe, stripe assigns them a token. That token is how the vendor is connected to Stripe and is stored in yoru database in the user meta as
_stripe_connect_access_key
with a value of their token/key. So, go to your database, check that vendors user id and see if that key exists. If that key DOES exist, then that’s really weird and I have no idea without looking as an admin at your site.
If that key DOES NOT exist, then that means your webserver is probably blocking Stripe from receiving callbacks. Security plugins, firewalls, htaccess rules, something in there not letting it happen and that goes back to the “disable al plugins switch to storefront blah blah blah” you know all that stuff that people are supposed to try first to fix the common obvious stuff but never do. Let me know!
February 20, 2017 at 1:01 pm #56926@CockyClubParticipantOk, trying to find the user meta file in the database. Would that be under wp_plugins or….?
