I wanted to ask what is the difference between /vendors which is under the general tab in settings and /vendor_shops under the pro settings. Both appear to be slugs for the exact same thing and if so, should these both be labeled the same? If not, can you tell me what the difference between the two are?

    Thank you kindly.

    Hi Jerett,

    The difference is rather simple.

(Pro) /vendor_stores/store-name/ is a custom post type, which in the future will allow a lot of extra customization options. Right now, it shows the vendor banner, the vendor icon, their store title and description in a neat little header. The /vendor_stores/ itself is a full directory of all the vendors, too.

(Free) /vendors/store-name/ just spits out the product loop with the store title and description on the top. Much more ugly, but got the job done for years for many sites.

Ok awesome. So do we need to update or do anything with the old one under general tag?

Nope! Leave the old /vendors setting, and all the pages exactly as you have them now. Then you configure your “Pro” tab with the new Pro Dashboard page and the new Vendor Store slug.

If you erase your pages tab settings, you will break stuff. 🙂
