    I’m having a nightmare time finding a multistore plugin solution to work well with Listify. I’ve been trying / comparing WooComm Product Vendors, WC Vendors and Dokan. Apparently Paypal Adaptive payments are being phased out by PayPal. You guys have a Stripe Connect addon which I prefer over Paypal.

    In my research there has been compatibility problems between a Listify and WC Vendors.

    Question 1
    Apparently WooCommerce RC is set for release Feb 24. They note the service2 upgrade issue which is noted in your Aug 2016 thread below. With the new WooComm release will this fix capatibility between WC Vendors / Listify?

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/12666

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/wiki/2.6.x-to-2.7.x-Developer-Migration-Notes

    I came across the following reply thread on WC Vendors.

    Question 2
    Any updates to your WC Vendors plugin coming soon? When was the last update? Is there a new update coming soon?

    Thanks,

    Brad

    @astoundify

    Hey there @ben and @jamie,

    Adam from Astoundify (creators of Listify) here. Would just like to clear a few things up:

    – WC Vendors Pro includes its own copy of select2 (3.5.2) as mentioned, and does not use what is bundled with WooCommerce:

    wp_register_script( ‘select2’, $this->base_dir . ‘../includes/assets/js/select2’ . $this->suffix . ‘.js’, array( ‘jquery’ ), ‘3.5.2’, true );

    So while it happens to be the same version that WooCommerce uses the same issue will occur again when WooCommerce updates their version.

    Is there a reason to include the duplicate?

    – “Bundling” assets in a theme or plugin should hold the same weight — I do not believe it is anyone’s fault when incompatibilities occur; but it is everyone’s responsibility to keep up to date libraries and work towards fixes together when problems arise. Not really sure how the theme is “forcing” it anymore than the plugin. Or why that matters. Blaming someone for taking the necessary steps to build their product is not helpful.

    – Version 4.0.1 of select2 was released in November of 2015, and “no reason to update” goes against every thing the WordPress community pushes for. It is akin to saying there is no reason to update WordPress core or even the WC Vendors plugin. Surely we all know how important it is to stay up to date.

    Hope that helps and please let me know if there is anything else I can help with!

    We don’t recommend using WC Vendors @karl and @pippa

    We have not added any support for WC Vendors into our Listify theme and soon to be released Eventify, I have reached out to Jamie Madden lead developer of WC Vendors but have never heard back from him, I was trying to see if he’d look at working with us.

    PayPal AP is being deprecated. They started telling people that 3 years ago. When they have something to replace it with, then it will be finally deprecated. Till then, you’re perfectly safe, and you’ll have PLENTY of time to move to the new system, which if you use WC Vendors requires you to do nothing since we’ll do all that for you. 🙂

    Onto your questions!

    1.) WC Vendors Pro has an option to disable our select2, in favor of whatever other select2 you have loading. It’s a simple checkbox, in fact this was added a year ago for Listify theme users.

    2.) This is a rather odd question. We always update WC Vendors Free, and WC Vendors Pro. I cant think of a time that we havent always been coding it. It’s our full time jobs, everyone here, this is all we do. So yea, there’s updates coming. There’s always updates coming. 🙂

    In fact, #2 is what separates us from the other schmucks in the marketplace software arena. EVERYONE else codes their vendor platform part time, if even that. WooThemes updates theres once a year. Dokan once or twice. We generally push new updates every two *weeks*. Eat that, competition!

    Our changelogs are public, so knock your socks off, read em and weep! 🙂

    No matter what platform you start on, it’s all the same. You always end up with us in the end. Search for the word “convert” and you’ll see a hundred threads of people converting to wcv and none on our competitors forums for converting from wcv to theirs. 🙂

    Hey Again Ben,

    I am sorry if this will require you to repeat something you have already said but I would like to clarify a few things. When last speaking with you in this form post, you had indicated that integration with Listify theme would be something hopefully done within the next 6 months max. Seeing that this conversation took place over a year ago I would like to follow-up with this integration and if WC Vendors Pro is now compatible with Listify theme and at what capacity this is possible. I noticed you briefly mentioned in your reply above that this is done through “select2” and a “simple checkbox”. Unfortunately, as a self-learning WordPress “developer”, I must break things down to the basics and am unfamiliar with this “select2” terminology. Can you please provide any insight into this integration, how to achieve it and what it will ultimately allow? Any insight would be much appreciated.

    I know I worked on a site the other day that was using the Listify theme with Wc Vendors Pro- and she has not reported any issues and I did not see any on her site.
    The select2 refers to the version of select2 used for selection boxes with drop down, and functions such as that- of which we have many in our Pro dashboard for selecting categories, countries, etc.
    We have recently updated select2 , and we also have a checkbox in the admin Pro settings (it is just a checkbox you can tick) that allows you to disable our select2 functions in case they conflict with a theme.
