Hi Ben/Jamie,
When the next version of Pro is out containing the shipping module, I’ll need to add the default shipping myself for all my Vendor Stores. Otherwise it would prove impossible to organise 60+ of them to log in to add their own, I could be waiting weeks for them to get round to it!
That won’t be too much of a big job for me, a few hours. However, I also have some Vendors who don’t use a default shipping cost and instead have different postage per item (arghhhhh!!!). So I will need to look at all of their products (some have hundreds) and manually type in the product shipping cost for each of their products, by referring to what postage costs they have already added in the Per Product Shipping Plug In for that product.
As you can image, it’s not a job that fills me with joy and have to admit I’m feeling a little bit anxious about all the work involved and whether I’ll be able to do this quick enough all by myself. My biggest worry is turning off the Per Product Shipping Module and not having the correct vendor postage set up and customers not being able to buy.
So in the hope it will stop me worrying, I thought I’d ask what happens if I keep my Per Product Shipping Plug In active whilst I’m setting up the Vendors Shipping?
So for example, a customer tries to buy from Vendor Z, but I haven’t managed to set up that Vendors shipping yet (for either their default store shipping or individual product). What would happen? Would the customer be charged the shipping already added in the Per Product Shipping Plug In for that product? Or would the customer not be able to buy the item because it can’t find any postage within the WCVendors Pro Shipping Module?
Hope the above makes sense!
Thank you,
Karen
November 14, 2015 at 2:26 pm #15412Karen ThomasParticipantI’ve just seen this in WooCommerce>Settings>Shipping 🙂
Does this mean I’ll be able display the Per Product Shipping Costs if I haven’t been able to add WC Vendor Shipping by any chance? Please say yes!
Also, do you have any tips on how I can speed up the above work I need to do – is there a way to Import/Export shipping costs by any chance? (sorry I’m guessing the answer is no, but thought I would ask in case I was missing something!)
Many thanks,
Karen
November 15, 2015 at 11:52 am #15456Karen ThomasParticipantHi Ben thanks for that – big sigh of relief that Per Product Shipping will still work whilst I set up the WCVendors Shipping and can then finally de activate that horrid plug in!
Thanks for the link to have a play on your dev site. Really love what you’ve done. I have quite a few questions, but do let me know if you’d like me to raise separate tickets for each…
1. Rest of the World?
As Country Codes are used, that gives lots of flexibility to Vendors who only ship to certain countries/states. For vendors who ship to their own country and overseas (all other countries) would they leave the country code blank to cover all other countries (just like Per Product Shipping plug in). Otherwise it could take a very long time to enter every country code.2. Handling Fee
Can I remove this in templates (both in settings and Product listing page) as I’ve never used this because we just use the postage cost (never really understood what this was used for but I might be missing something really important)3. Shipping and Return Policy
Will these be displayed on the front end website for customers to read anywhere (without us all needing to do something scary and technical)? Also I noticed these fields are already available in the last update, so would it be Ok for me to start popping text in here ie would it get deleted at all when I upgrade to the next version?4. Ships from
I noticed this is displayed on your product page – fab 🙂 what we also really really need is a way of showing which countries the vendor ships to please – is that possible?5. Shipping Costs on Website
Is there going to be a way to display shipping costs by country to customers on each product page? Sorry I know I’ve asked before but it’s pretty important for any customer using websites (rather than needing to wait till they get to checkout). This is how Etsy do it:
So rather than display all the shipping costs by country (slowing page load time) customers can select their country to get a postage cost)
I understand how difficult this will be to do but would like to know if it’s something you are looking to add in the future. Many thanks and sorry for all the questions!

November 15, 2015 at 11:57 am #15459WC Vendors SupportParticipant1.) There will be an admin option, to allow country input, or not allow country input (which would mean a flat rate for domestic flat rate for international, OR, they can specify each country).
2.) Yup. This is really for someone who ships something really big like a stove or something like that who might charge $99 for delivery plus $49 handling on large items or whatever.
3.) There are no shipping or return policies, those would go on your own websites terms and conditions page somewhere.
4.) Possibly, I’ll ask Jamie on this one. At the very least you could write a filter that would do this.

November 15, 2015 at 12:37 pm #15464nikosmdtpsParticipantHello Ben
Will it be possible to charge different shipping costs inside a country?
For example, my vendors sell only inside Greece, but they want to charge different shipping if the product goes to Athens and different shipping if the product goes to somewhere far away (still inside the country).
One more question:
If a user buys one product from vendor 1 and one product from vendor 2, will he see two different shipping costs (one for vendor1, and one for vendor 2) or he will see just one shipping total?
Thanks a lot!
November 15, 2015 at 12:48 pm #15465WC Vendors SupportParticipantHere are the admin screenshots for shipping (attached). (@Conscious Crafties note that you can set, from the admin, the default rates for your vendors if they set nothing!).
A vendor can not specify two in country rates to different cities.
If a buyer buys one product from Vendor 1, and one product from Vendor 2, they will see this, in the second attached image.
November 15, 2015 at 1:00 pm #15468nikosmdtpsParticipantHello Ben, thanks a lot for your response.
Can a vendor specify two in country rates to different states (not cities, but states)?
Can a vendor specify per product shipping?
Will a vendor see the shipping cost for his products at the email he gets?Sorry for asking too much and thank you for your excellent support!
November 15, 2015 at 1:06 pm #15471Karen ThomasParticipantThank you Ben 🙂 see my comments in CAPS below – not shouting just easier to see 😉

Karen’s Comment:
SO TO CHECK MY UNDERSTANDING…I CAN DICTATE IN WP-ADMIN WHETHER MY VENDORS CAN ADD COUNTRY CODES OR WHETHER THEY CAN ONLY ADD DOMESTIC AND/OR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING RATES (WITHIN THEIR SETTINGS). THE CODE WOULD KNOW THAT VENDORS ADDING DOMESTIC SHIPPING COSTS WOULD BE THE COUNTRY THEY HAVE SET IN THEIR ‘SHIP FROM STORE ADDRESS’. INTERNATIONAL WOULD BE FOR ALL OTHER COUNTRIES OTHER THAN THEIR OWN COUNTRY?Question 2. Handling Fee
Can I remove this in templates (both in settings and Product listing page) as I’ve never used this because we just use the postage cost (never really understood what this was used for but I might be missing something really important)

Karen’s comment:
I CURRENTLY ADD THE VENDORS RETURN POLICY IN THEIR ‘SELLER INFO’ SECTION AS EACH VENDOR OPERATES THEIR OWN RETURNS POLICY. THE REASON I ASKED ABOUT SHIPPING AND RETURN POLICY FIELDS IS BECAUSE I SAW THEM IN YOUR DEV WEBSITE WITHIN PRO DASHBOARD>SETTINGS>SHIPPING 😉Question 4. Ships from

1.) Correct!
3.) Oh, it looks like Jamie added that and I didnt even notice. 🙂 Looks like you’re right!
No, just country.
Yes.
Yes.
November 15, 2015 at 3:45 pm #15483Karen ThomasParticipantTe he 😉 Jamie is obviously coding too quickly for you to keep up! 😉
So can @DigitalChild answer my question about the fields pretty please? 🙂

Thank you Karen for your useful questions, they helped me understand how the shipping system will work.
Hope we’ll have it soon.@ben and @DigitalChild please keep up the good work. You guys have made an awesome product!
November 15, 2015 at 6:28 pm #15488JamieKeymasterHello All,
There will be a shipping tab on the single product page that will show the policies and output the costs per country/flat rate.
If you set a vendor to use the country rate shipping, you can set the country and the state. I didn’t add post/zip codes this time around as they are different all over the world and calculating post code ranges is very hard to do as not all post codes are numbers.
cheers,
Jamie.
November 15, 2015 at 9:21 pm #15498Karen ThomasParticipantTHANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!! 🙂
I’m so grateful!!!Just a few of questions (sorry!)
1. Will it be available in the next update?
3. Can I start adding text in the returns policy field that’s available in the latest version, or am I best waiting for the next update?
2. Will the code know to display a different shipping cost if the vendor has overwritten their Store Shipping for the individual product?
Many thanks for all your help @DigitalChild and Ben

Does it mean that i can set different shipping cost per state?
November 17, 2015 at 7:35 pm #15680WC Vendors SupportParticipant@nikosmdtps — Yup, you can set different state rates. https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/pro-shipping/ — 1.1.0 is live now you can update any time you like. Update WC Vendors Free to 1.8.1 first, then update pro second.
November 18, 2015 at 5:10 am #15722nikosmdtpsParticipantHello @ben
Thanks for your response!
I did the update, but i have some problems:1) Flat rate: i try to change the rates for a vendor, i press save but the system doesn’t save the rates. Whatever i do, it says 0.
Flat rate per product works fine!2) Table rate: i want to ship only to one country with different rates per state. In Greece we have states such us “Νότιο Αιγαίο”, “Βόρειο Αγαίο” e.t.c. I add the country with the code GR and at the states i use the whole word (eg “Νότιο Αιγαίο”) and it doesn’t working.
Can you please advise?
November 18, 2015 at 10:39 am #15741CriterioNetParticipantHi @nikosmdtps, where I find the settings shipments in the panel seller? I have already updated to version 1.1 but I find this feature.
The option Disable the vendor shipping system completely. is disabled.
November 18, 2015 at 10:40 am #15742nikosmdtpsParticipantHello CriterioNet, just see this video: https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/pro-shipping/ 🙂
November 18, 2015 at 11:34 am #15748WC Vendors SupportParticipant1.) You’re correct, we’ll have that fixed ASAP.
2.) You’ll want to check how WooCommerce calls that “Νότιο Αιγαίο” area. As an example, for USA in Florida, it is US FL. The state codes for Greece can be found here: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/5893875b0c03dda7b2d448d1a904ccfad3cdae3f/i18n/states/GR.php — You can see that “Νότιο Αιγαίο” has a state code of “L”.
November 18, 2015 at 11:39 am #15754nikosmdtpsParticipantHello Ben.
Thank you very much for your response.
I will try to see if it works with the state codes and i will inform you here!
Excellent support, thanks again.November 18, 2015 at 12:40 pm #15779nikosmdtpsParticipantHello Ben
I tested the Table rate system and it works fine! No problem here..
Just one question. If a buyer buys a product the shipping is 3 euro. If he buys 10 products the shipping is 3 x 10 = 30 euros. Is there any way to let the buyer pay only 3 euros, instead of 30?November 18, 2015 at 12:44 pm #15780WC Vendors SupportParticipantNo, there is not. @digitalchild had problems with getting min/max shipping with the way WooCommerce stores order data and product data in carts for checkout. I’ve tagged him to let him know you’re interested in that.
November 18, 2015 at 12:46 pm #15782chrisParticipanti am also interested in that
November 18, 2015 at 1:01 pm #15793nikosmdtpsParticipantThanks Ben.
I was thinking something easier than what you said. Just combine flat rate with table rate.. Image we have 2 vendors, Vendor A and Vendor B.
I use table rate shipping for both vendors.Vendor A: 3 euro for state 1 and 8 euro for state 2
Vendor B: 5 euro for state 1 and 10 euro for state 2The buyer buys 2 items from Vendor A and 3 items from Vendor B. The buyer’s address is at state 1.
So now the shipping cost is: 2items x 3euro + 3items x 5euro = 21 euro
I want it to be: 3euro + 5euro = 8 euroSorry for all this, but my english are not very good, so i try to explain what i want with examples!
November 18, 2015 at 1:03 pm #15795WC Vendors SupportParticipantTo be clear, you can use table rate OR flat rate, not both.
The calculations you are after are not possible, yet, but we’re looking into ways to add something like that.
November 18, 2015 at 1:04 pm #15796nikosmdtpsParticipantOk, you are clear..
Thanks, keep up the good work
November 18, 2015 at 1:50 pm #15808nikosmdtpsParticipantI found one more thing you may want to take a look.
Table rate:
When i put “0” at fee and save, it doesn’t save it and when i navigate to shipping tab again, it is not there.
When i put “0.00” at fee everything works ok.November 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm #15812AnnaMemberBen,
If I am understanding some of the above posts correctly, then combined shipping is not possible with the Pro shipping?
Will a customer/buyer always pay full shipping price for each product purchased from a particular vendor, even if they purchase several small items that can be shipped together? The vendor cannot define a discounted shipping rate for additional items purchased?November 18, 2015 at 3:48 pm #15821WC Vendors SupportParticipantNot in the Pro Shipping video, but useful, so I’m adding it to the KB article — If you use COUNTRY TABLE RATE and enter a fee WITHOUT ENTERING a country/state code, then that’s the default if not specified.
Example:
US FL 9.99 = $9.99 for shipping to United States, Florida
US (empty) 19.99 = $19.99 for shipping to United States, everywhere, except Florida since Florida is defined.
GR L 9.99 = $9.99 for shipping to Greece, Νότιο Αιγαίο
GR (empty) 19.99 = $19.99 for shipping to Greece, everywhere, except Νότιο Αιγαίο since Νότιο Αιγαίο is defined
(empty) (empty) 19.99 = $19.99 to everywhere else not added. This will work per product, and as a global setting for the vendor.
A list of ALL country codes and ALL states for that country code can be found here:
https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/tree/master/i18n/statesI’m updating the KB article to show this above the video too.
@nikosmdtps — I’m not sure I understand you on this one. Could you show a screenshot? Set to Country Table Rate, then I go to Pro Dashboard > Settings > Shipping and added a few rates (US FL 9.99). Then I saved, they saved. I went to Pro Dashboard > settings > Shipping and changed US FL to 0 and saved. Clicked Settings, then Shipping again, and see US FL 0 is gone (which is correct).
@fervous – Correct, for now, until we find a solution to adding the min/max/free option.November 18, 2015 at 3:58 pm #15823nikosmdtpsParticipantOk, i ll try to explain it better. Sorry ben..
I want to set free shipping for one state of a country. All the other states of the same country has 5 dollars shipping.
So, i do:
GR L 0 = free shipping for “Νότιο Αιγαίο”
GR (empty) 5 = 5 euro for shipping to Greece, everywhere, except Νότιο Αιγαίο since Νότιο Αιγαίο is defined above. The above example is not working. To make it work, i need to use “0.00”, instead of “0”.
If i use “0” and save, the row is gone and if a buyer from Νότιο Αιγαίο buys something, he has to pay 5 euro as everyone else from Greece.I am not sure if you can understand me now..
November 18, 2015 at 4:17 pm #15830WC Vendors SupportParticipantAlso to note (I just learned this from Jamie) is that WooCommerce CACHES SHIPPING RATES for one hour. So, if you find yourself making a change and not seeing it right away, that’s WooCommerce caching it, not us being broken.
November 18, 2015 at 4:22 pm #15831WC Vendors SupportParticipantThanks Nikos — We’ll get that coded in, too, so that the $0 rate stays instead of being deleted. Expect that in v1.1.1 coming out shortly.
November 18, 2015 at 4:28 pm #15835nikosmdtpsParticipantThanks Ben, if i find anything else i’ll let you know!
November 19, 2015 at 8:24 am #15930nikosmdtpsParticipantHello @ben and @digitalchild
I found out that these are not working:
(empty) (empty) 3
GR (empty) 3The only one that works is this:
GR L 3
In other words i have to put a value to every cell to make it work.
November 19, 2015 at 4:41 pm #16014JamieKeymasterHello,
In v1.1.0 Country and Fee is required, v1.1.1 I fixed this so only fee is required. Sorry about that!
cheers,
Jamie.
November 19, 2015 at 4:44 pm #16015WC Vendors SupportParticipantJamie has this fixed for v1.1.1, nikos.
November 19, 2015 at 5:37 pm #16031nikosmdtpsParticipantHello guys, thanks for the info!
Sorry for asking, but is 1.1.1 going to be available soon?November 19, 2015 at 6:37 pm #16040WC Vendors SupportParticipantYup. Jamie is just fixing a coupon issue and a category dropdown issue and then v1.1.1 is ready. Maybe he’ll get the auto updater working, too. 🙂
November 19, 2015 at 6:39 pm #16042nikosmdtpsParticipantGood news Ben, thanks 🙂
