    Thanks Anna. yea, I understand that WP-based website may not be quite suitable for really large sites that contain over some hundred thousands of products and it would definitely need customization to handle that many products or completely move on to different platform such as Magento. but, experiencing performance issue with just a little over 3k products is something I would’ve never expected..

    Kleo sounds interesting but I think I like re:vendor better just becuase it doesn’t need much customization and has many features I’d require. I am checking a few things with the theme author and had my engineer look into the theme as well. I will let you know how it goes.

    Hi Anna,

    Thank you for your suggestions. Yes, the difficult part was to convince Buddyboss that the issue was coming from their plugin. I am not sure if it’s approriate to mention here but this independent php engineer I work with doesn’t believe they have the technical expertise to optimize the theme&plugin so recommended me to move onto a new theme asap.

    It seems Kleo theme you recommended has many child themes as well. which one of these works best with your plugin?

    Just purchased your hosting service. Do I get an email from you guys? and as for DNS, where do I get a new IP address and do I add another CNAME or A?

    Hi Ben,

    with the continuous increase in the number of customers, I’ve decided to quit WP engine earlier than I expected and move to your hosting server.

    I have a few more questions as follows:

    DNS – this is the thing that bothered me the most last time when I changed my host. my dns is hosted by cloudflare and am not sure how to configure the setting if I move to your server. Do you help with this?

    AWS – I am using AWS via WP Engine and am not sure how to configure the setting for this as well. do I even need to use this for your server?

    Backup – one thing I liked about wp engine is they have automated backup system so I didn’t have to use third party plugin to back up my site. do you guys also provide this?

    Lastly, when do I need to cancel my service with wp engine? do I need to send you the loggin details so you can help with migration?

    thanks
    Jay

    Thanks Ben for the prompt response. checked the link you sent and the site speed seems pretty good. the good thing is the performance seems quite consistent even when logged in, which is not the case for WP engine + WP Rocket (caching plugin).

    I will most likely use your hosting service soon and will let you know if I have more questions.

    cheers

    Thanks Anna,

    my marketplace site is currently hosted by WP Engine and their server is way toooooooooooo slow for a marketplace business. absolutely unsatisfied. caching and CDN won’t help much. so the contract ends this Aug and I plan to change to other hosting service. questions here:

    1. as a non-tech guy, I am not sure if I can successfully move to a different host. do you guys help migrate?

    2. I think I saw somewhere in the site that your hosting service is specialized for marketplace, Is there any way I can test the site performance to see if it’s as fast as I expect it to be?

    3. In case my site is down or needs urgent help, how do I get assistance? I don’t assume you guys provide 24/7 CS.

    4. Do I need a caching plugin as well as CDN? or do you guys cover them.

    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Anna,

    Thank you for your response:) yea, we’re making quite a few sales thesedays and noticed the email issue keeps happening regardless of type of products (both simple and variable) Other emails are being sent fine. (e.g. registration email)

    for the amount not showing, yes it happens to variable products only.

    Cheers

    for both, it has too many scenarios and I don’t think I will want to go through all of them to find the exact logic of the errors.. but it seems “Free shipping product” is certainly not delivering its intended function.

    There’s another fatal error with image uploading. If a vendor edits some variations after adding a product and click save button gallery images will be automatically deleted.

    thanks Anna but the only function working is “maximum shipping charged per order”. free shipping order/product functions don’t work. I am using social marketplace. should I speak to buddyboss about this?

    thanks for looking into this.

    In terms of the shipping costs sending to admin, it was working ok before the latest woocommerce update (a couple of days ago) but is causing the same issue again after the update.

    yea, that’s what I thought the function should perform, but in fact it doesn’t. Even if I “kinda” want to hide a product by clicking the private listing button, its still showing and searchable, without even going to that specific url.

    Am I missing something here? ^^;;

    ok, what I further found out is that when a simple product is duplicated, I can make changes and the button works perfectly fine but it is when I try to duplicate “Variable” products that the button doesn’t work.

    Hi Anna, I’ve checked with buddyboss and confirmed the issue isn’t from them. I’ve also changed to storefront theme and it’s not working there as well. tried plugin deactivation process but couldn’t find a cause.

    Once again the issue I am experiencing is “save changes” button is not working only on duplicated products. It’s working without an issue when adding a new product.

    hm,,, it’s pretty weird. If I try to upload a product via mobile, it works but I have to fill out “sku”, “sale price”, and click “private listing”, only then the button becomes clickable.

    Hi Anna, I will try as you said. Other more major issues: vendors are not able to upload products. when I switched to a vendor’s account, fill out the details and click “Add product”, the button doesn’t work. Also, when I click “duplicate” the server goes down.

    Hi all,

    As a person based in Seoul running a site for global customers, the only available global payment gateway I can rely on is Paypal. Stripe is not launched here yet and since Korean government has ridiculously protective regulations for local payment gateways, I don’t believe Stripe will be available here anytime soon. So, in case Paypal adaptive becomes only available in the U.S, does that mean only the customers in the U.S can use the system ? or will it just completely not work for an website operator based out of the States? In either case, if my vendors are ok with receiving weekly/monthly payment, will I still be able to use the standard Paypal and pay the vendors manually?

    sure, not sure if I did correctly per your request but please see below the code I used.

    /* WC Vendors Pro replace shipping providers with custom list */
    function custom_shipping_providers( $providers ){
    	$providers[ 'Thailand' ] = array(
    				'Thailand Post' => 'http://track.thailandpost.com/tracking/default.aspx?lang=en',
    				'Korea Post' => 'http://www.koreapost.go.kr/eng/sub/EMS_Search.jsp?contId=e1020600',
    			);
    	return $providers;
    }
    add_filter( 'wcv_shipping_providers_list', 'custom_shipping_providers' );

    Thanks Anna. But the customer has already checked the page but could only find the link to the post service with no tracking number as shown in the attached. And, when clicking the link, it just directs to a page where a customer needs to a tracking number. Do you think I added the wrong link when I set up additional post service?

    there’s order details on the bottom half of the page but there’s no info about tacking number either.

    seems it’s working fine after replacing “&’ to “?” as suggested by an user from another thread with the same topic. but it’d be great to know if there will be a proper solution.

    Thanks Ben and Anna, it’s all crystal clear now. The biggest misunderstanding here was that I thought standard Payapl would work the same way as paypal adaptive does except for the instant payment function.

    whoa.. so to wrap up, even if I set up a scheduler for example as “daily” using standard paypal, it doesn’t automatically pay vendors after 24 hours from the point of sale, but I will have to manually pay out to each vendor on schedule. so, using paypal adaptive is the only means to making automatic payment to vendors, and it makes more sense for a large online marketplace.

    Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

    Ok Ben, that’s fair enough. hopefully this would be my last question under this topic: If seems that “multiple packages for woocommerce” works fine with standard paypal. so, if I turn both “standard paypal” and “paypal adaptive” on and tick “instantly pay vendors~~” under WC vendors pro-> setting, will the standard paypal not work at all because “instantly pay vendors~” is ticked? I think I will just turn off paypal adaptive and use standard one if there are no difference between the two other than instant payment.

    I’ve sent them an email but since the plugin was last updated like 3 years ago, I doubt if the developer will update to make it compatible with paypal adaptive..

    so, in your next update, will there be a function to split the cart on a product/vendor level?
