Glenn CarlsonParticipant
I hadn’t realized my Stripe Commissions had expired. At any rate, I bought the new one. Do I delete my old one and upload the new version of the plugin? Will it affect any of my settings or data?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantAnna, this worked for me! I’m not a software person by trade so I always want to be extra sure of changes in code I am making. WCV FTW!
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI am also having this error and unfortunately, lost an order cause of it. Did the fix above work?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantFYI for the users on here. I spoke with Stripe. The Stripe Instant Payout feature is active, but only available when using managed accounts when you control the onboarding process. Also, there is a .5% fee of the transferred amount incurred by the vendor when they want to have instant payouts.
Ben, I know you said they are wrong, but a lot of folks on here likely use the standalone account setup. Can you for sure confirm that your plugin is for standalone accounts and does instant payouts? I’m also concerned that some folks don’t want incur the extra fees for instant payouts. What would it take to provide some options for daily, weekly, monthly, etc options (like Paypal adaptive) and then have the vendor select if they want instant or not? Essentially, the shop chooses it’s standard payout timing unless the vendor wants instant.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantCan I ignore this part too? From Stripe….
“Check out our docs for more details on how to integrate. Instant Payouts cost 1.5% of the payout amount, with a minimum fee of 50ยข.”
How about the debit card piece instead of full bank account info? Any intention to integrate that?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantNot sure if I am reading this correctly, but I believe Paypal is highly restricting new Adaptive Payments accounts. Appears they could be discontinuing it in the future altogether. I am moving all of my vendors to Stripe as we speak. Easier anyways, plus it’s supported by WCVendors Pro.
https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/products/adaptive-payments/
Glenn CarlsonParticipantSilly question, but will this output on the product page as well? ie, a customer would be able to see these custom fields on the product page in the store?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantBen, do you happen to know if the widget allows you to search product based on geolocating, as opposed to just sellers?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantWill this erase all of my settings?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI renewed yesterday and tried to use the new key, but nothing. Just to be clear, I don’t need to redownload the new plugin, do I? I can just use the updated key?
Glenn CarlsonParticipant@fervous, any idea on this one?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI have a couple questions just to make sure I understand this thread. No intention of hijacking and I believe what Jamie is creating will help me, but I want to be sure. I am currently using attributes to add custom filterable items like city and zip code to my products.
I have a feeling this is not correct and custom taxonomies is the better way to handle this? The form builder update from Jamie will incorporate these taxonomies into the front end? For example, if I set a taxonomy called city, the vendor will be able to input a city in the field on their add product form?
Do these taxonomies display on the single product page?
Also, what are the best ways people have found to filter these in the shop for users?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI’m having the same problem. Tried the license key from the downloads tab and I get an error in wordpress. “Invalid API License Key. Login to your My Account page to find a valid API License Key.”
Glenn CarlsonParticipantWorked like a charm. So to add Zip, I simply add that new $meta you gave me. Do I also need to add zip info every where else below in that code. ie, && $ZIP or .$ZIP.
What about on the return array? It only shows store country on that code above?
If I wanted to change the name from ships from to item location (the don’t always ship), is it just as simple as changing ships from to item location everywhere above?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI think we are halfway there and almost on the same page if I am reading this correctly. I have attached a picture of what I am talking about. This defaults to the shop shipping address. Just need it to pull through to this page, in my case, city and state. Appreciate the help as always and I always try to help push WCV on social media, etc.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantWhat file folder does this go in? functions.php in the child theme? City and Zip are what I have as attributes currently. Does the above code pull in both of those into the product detail page? Sorry, not a software person by trade so the above is a bit confusing to me.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantOk, I’ve narrowed it down in that it pulls from shop location, but only pulls country. How do I get it to pull city and zip? I’m willing to learn, but not a code person by trade.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantAnna,
Actually, that setup is perfect for my site. I act as the “escrow” if you will and want to keep the deposit(extra fee) secure until the transaction is complete between the vendor and their customer and all went well. If so, the deposit gets returned to the customer. If all does not go well, it gets sent to the vendor. The thing I am most concerned about is that I need the vendor to be able to set the deposit amount on the front end. Any thoughts on that working fine with WCVPro?Glenn CarlsonParticipantSo cool! I always be sure to read Anna’s help as she is usually spot on!
Glenn CarlsonParticipant@ben, do you know if WooThemes Bookings will work on the checkout process like normal if WC is installed? I know it’s not supported just yet, but I was hoping at the least people could still use it for checkout. Before the latest update, my site was working fine under these conditions with Easy Bookings (a great plugin, BTW).
My theme creator said it was not the theme causing the product descriptions to disappear. He said he tested in his sandbox and everything worked fine. Ugh. I love wordpress, but every time I do an update, something breaks on my site. Exhausting!
Glenn CarlsonParticipantCheck and see if after the image upload fails, it is logging the user out. If so, you have an SSL issue. Make your whole site SSL instead of just certain areas and the problem should go away.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI had a bit of help and would be glad to connect the two of you actually. In essence, if you are running an eCommerce website, you are likely using SSL somewhere. My site had parts where it was SSL and parts where it wasn’t. This was causing some confusion and the website would not let users upload images since it was moving back and forth between a secure environment and an insecure environment. We plugged in the “SSL Insecure Content Fixer” and began by using that plugin to help us make more of the website secure. I would start there. If you are still having issues, please send me a private message and I will connect you to the guy who helped me.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantGot it! Thanks!
Glenn CarlsonParticipantHi Ben, since my problem is fixed, I went in to kill my dev.domain….. PRO activation and reactivate it on my main site. I deactivated the dev site just fine and then input my license key info into my new site and saved changes. “settings saved”. However, it still says license deactivated.
Is there a lag time or is there an issue with my activation? I saw no place in my account to reset my activation.
March 17, 2016 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Error in uploading Feature Image in the front end Add Product page #27141Glenn CarlsonParticipant@ben, with some help from some peeps in the woocommerce advanced group, we were able to find the issue on my page. I only had parts of my website under SLL and it was causing some issues with the user profiles. After some minor changes to make the full site SSL, the problem was solved.
@dnvr, I would check your site out and see if this works.I will work on getting details from the person that helped me and try to repost here.
March 14, 2016 at 2:03 pm in reply to: Error in uploading Feature Image in the front end Add Product page #26689Glenn CarlsonParticipantDNVR, after you close the media uploader, is it logging the user out? Are you able to use the media uploader in the backend? This is a bit concerning.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantIt works. I was able to upload! Apologies, but I don’t follow you on the second part about building my website on the dev…… platform. Does this mean I have to start over??? It’s not possible to reinstall a clean version of WP on my regular site?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantDamn Permalinks! They always get me!
So essentially, my wordpress install is broken? Is it possible to save my website settings and reinstall a clean WP version? Is it possible for a plugin to permanently break a site even if you uninstall it?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantGlenn CarlsonParticipantBen, I can’t even get to the area to add an image at all. When I get inside the dashboard and click “add product”, nothing happens.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI setup a subdomain, but am not able to get anywhere once inside the PRO dashboard. I click add product and nothing happens. I deactivated my license key from my main site and assigned it to this one. Still nothing. I can’t add products. I went through the settings and made sure all capabilities were proper as well.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantDoes it make sense to reinstall WCPro at this point? How about a WP reinstall?
I was on the phone with Bluehost twice today and they found nothing on the server side that would indicate this. I reached out to the theme developer as well as the WP support community.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantIf you couldn’t tell, I am knee deep in PHP land. ๐ I am not a software guy by trade, but I have actually learned a lot reading through the code. Now if I could just find out why this error exists. Seems it is actually a common error and there have been multiple causes throughout the years.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantBen, do you see anything in this piece of code that would create the error? This is from the media.new.php file.
if ( $_POST ) {
if ( isset($_POST[‘html-upload’]) && !empty($_FILES) ) {
check_admin_referer(‘media-form’);
// Upload File button was clicked
$upload_id = media_handle_upload( ‘async-upload’, $post_id );
if ( is_wp_error( $upload_id ) ) {
wp_die( $upload_id );
}
}
wp_redirect( admin_url( ‘upload.php’ ) );
exit;Glenn CarlsonParticipantDid not work for me.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantBen, I have no clue how you were able to upload a picture in the front end. I’m baffled. I had Bluehost check my server configs out and nothing seemed out of whack. We even tried some of the common “fixes” found in WP support over the years. Changed my PHP version, rolled back WP, etc. Nothing. I just set up a new vendor and it’s still dead. Nobody is able to upload pictures. It’s’ still logging people out. So weird. I can load pictures all day long on the back end.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantBrand new test account, just created 30 minutes ago. Same issue.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantBen, I have a test account as well and am still having the same issue. I created a brand new test account this morning and tried again. Same issue. I had my wife login and try her account. Same issue.
You were able to create a test account and upload a picture on the front end? Almost everything is unplugged right now and believe it or not, I have done very little modifications to existing code. I have not had any user role editors or other marketplace plugins. I don’t know what else to do. It is still logging people out.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantHi Ben, do you know if Jamie has had a chance to look into this?
Is it ok if I reactivate my plugins?
Also, what four errors did you find on woocommerce pages?
March 5, 2016 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Error in uploading Feature Image in the front end Add Product page #25715Glenn CarlsonParticipantBen, this is the same issue I am having. I have disabled every single plugin and also changed themes and still get the issue. It appears to be logging the person out. My site is effectively DOA right now. Not sure what else to do. As mentioned, I am able to load pictures easily from the backend.
February 29, 2016 at 5:43 pm in reply to: Vendors getting error when trying to upload pictures #25254Glenn CarlsonParticipantHa! That’s probably a blessing in disguise! Can you take a look into this when you get back? I can upload pictures just fine in the backend.
February 29, 2016 at 5:38 pm in reply to: Vendors getting error when trying to upload pictures #25252Glenn CarlsonParticipantIt is actually logging them out from what I can tell. Is there a way I can show you? I can setup an online meeting real quick.
After it says there is an error, I close the image uploader window and try to go back to the dashboard. It goes back to the login screen and makes me sign back in.
February 29, 2016 at 12:30 am in reply to: Vendors getting error when trying to upload pictures #25178Glenn CarlsonParticipantWhoops, didn’t attach for some reason. Let’s try again.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantHi Ben, Is it necessary to be concurrently running WCVFree and WCVPro? I have both installed and update them regularly.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantI had to disable it altogether. It wouldn’t work no matter what I changed. Do you think the Yoast team is aware of this issue?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantThat was it! Disabled it and everything works fine now. You’re a genius.
Glenn CarlsonParticipantDo you happen to know when that will be available? Also, how about bookings support? Last time I checked with you it was going to be around 60 days away. Are we getting close?
Glenn CarlsonParticipantHi Randall,
Were you able to get a little tutorial put together? I am not a software guy by trade so something that shows how to do this would be great. I need to have vendor location put in somewhere.Glenn CarlsonParticipantI went back into the hard files located on my hosting site (Bluehost) and changed the php files back to their original form. Took the white screen of death away. Whew!
Glenn CarlsonParticipantHey Ben, Sorry to bother again, but I went and checked on my Argo theme and it does say WooCommerce compatible.
http://www.mojo-themes.com/item/argo-a-complete-e-shop-wp-theme/
In fact, many of the themes I checked out say WooCommerce compatible. Not sure where to go from here. I don’t want to purchase another theme only to have it not work.
