Enjoying getting into Pro. Reading this wcvendors.com/kb/changing-vendor-templates/ where it talks about a powerful template tool – is this very simple/visual or is it like going into the theme editor and changing text/code ? (sorry not sure of terminology). Are there any example screenshots?

I can handle copying files into different folders etc but probably won’t start on it if it requires more technical knowledge.

Hi londondude! Glad you’re having fun with Pro. 🙂

The templates are pretty easy, they are just text files. Adding things like styling or comments and things like that are going to be no issue. Remember, a lot of the options for things like the add/edit product form can be enabled/disabled in the WC Vendors Settings, rather than having to use the templates.

Once you copy the file from /wp-content/plugins/wc-vendors-pro/templates/DIRECTORY/FILENAME.PHP to /wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME/wc-vendors/DIRECTORY/FILENAME.php all you do is edit it with a text editor and save. You can upload it via FTP, use vi in ssh, whatever editing method you want. The files arent editable in the wp-admin editor because that editor does not go beyond the root theme directory for editing, and our templates are in the ./wc-vendors/dir/filename.php structure.

I’ll be making some videos this week on how to tweak Pro using the templates, so check for that here soon enough.

    Cheers

Thanks Ben that sounds really helpful, I’m going to post a feature request or two relating to the Store Banner now but I reckon the template will probably make it easy to sort out.

    Hello Ben,

Did you ever get around to making the videos on how to tweak Pro using the templates? If so were do they live?

    Thanks Ben

Right now they live in my brain! 🙂 We’re finishing up v1.2.3 right now, and since a bunch of the dashboard templates have been updated once it’s released I’ll make the videos. Probably will just make a “Tutorials” menu item on our website here with a list of all the YouTube clips as I make them.

Sounds great…look forward to it. Much easier to watch the YouTube clips then trying to extract them telepathically them from your brain 😉

Quite true. 🙂 Now it’s time for me to go to YouTube and watch the video on how to fix the washing machine before my wife eats my head off. 😉

Please do…if she does indeed eat your head off it could delay the release of v1.2.3. Not to mention all the youtube videos would spill out on the floor and make a mess. 😉

Thanks again Ben good luck with the washer!

Hello Ben, I’m having trouble configuring the banner of the vendor store, according to the model presented. You have already done this video showing how to change the template to be the model of the site ReHub and the Wc vendors Pro. Please inform me the link of the video or help me with instructions please. Thank you very much
