    Hi,
I bought the Pro Version last year, and I’ve been using it since. It’s a great plugin with a good knowledge base, support etc..

Today I noticed a message at my dashboard telling me that I won’t get updates anymore.

Do I have to buy the license AGAIN !?!? You talk about the expensive Magento license, but if your plugin will cost $149/year you MUST make it very clear about this before doing any sale.

I think it is standard pricing practice for all wordpress plugins.
They are all purchased on a yearly basis.

The nice thing is that after a year it will still keep working but you just don’t get updates.

I think it is a pretty fair funding model as this plugin is the core of my ecommerce site. Without it I would have non-functioning marketplace site.

What would really suck is if the plugin stopped working all together!

We need to support our developers so they stick around and continue to support us.

Other plugins you might get away with not updating but certain ones are going to put your site at more risk which is a business decision you need to make.

Ok @THRIVINGLOCALLY, thanks for the reply!

Of course we must support developers but I cannot agree with you.

I have bought tons of premium themes and plugins for wordpress, and so far very few of them have charged me to get more updates. Most of them still work nicely.

I`ve bought this plugin last year and my project is in the final step before launching. I couldn’t be more disappointed knowing that I’ll be tied forever to them if I want my marketplace to work well (or else I’ll have to develop it all again without this plugin).

Also I don’t understand why there’s not a renovation fee. Maybe they don’t care about fidelization.

Yes, that is correct- the WC Vendors Pro license entitles you to 1 year of support and updates for WC Vendors Pro.
This license must be renewed by purchasing Pro again to continue to receive the support and updates for WC Vendors Pro.
    Thank you!

    hi Anna, and others,

I did buy Vendors Pro again on the 12th of juli. But installing is impossible. the license key won’t work. As soon as I enter the license key and my email adress, I get the message that it is an invalid request. How is this possible. My old licence only works untill the 25 th . of this month. after that I would like to have my new license working… I’ve tried everything…

    can you help me out?

    Andrew.

I do agree with Manoel, that people selling software ion WordPress should not be vague about the message that the license is only for 1 year. You have to tell this upfront. We have the right to know.

I replied to your other topic(s) regarding the license.
I will go and make sure your old license is deactivated on our end so you can activate it again- though I think I already did so.
Please find your other thread that you started on this topic- there is like three of them- and read my answer.

As for the cost of doing business/the yearly license…
If course you have the right to know that it is a yearly license. That’s why we tell you. In the product description. 🙂
I don’t really like the IMPLICATION that we are trying to be deceptive by not making it clear that it is a yearly license.
From the Vendors Pro product description:

Purchasing WC Vendors Pro brings you 12 months of support, and 12 months of free updates.

If you feel that we should make it more clear, then ok— I can do that. 😉 There is likely a way I can word the product description to make it unequivocally clear that it is for a one year license, support and updates for one year. After that, you can opt to pay for another year if you would like to have WC Vendors Pro updates and support for another year.
But if one was to read the product description, one would see that we do declare that this is for a one year license that provides one year of support and updates. If you are just upset that you have to pay for another year, please do not imply that we are not being upfront about our product and the cost of doing business while using our product because you are not pleased with the fact that it costs money to do business and be provided with support and updates for a monster of a plugin that needs continual updates and maintenance so it is working properly for our customers.

When I get done with support topics I will look at how I may be able to make the WC Vendors Pro product listing unarguably clear so that people can see it if they choose to skim read the product description rather than thoroughly reading the description.
