I’m needing a multi vendor WordPress website developed that lets people sign up and sell their clothing on the website. It should be corporate quality so the website could be purchased by an investor in the future and the website still be worth keeping. Like amazon or Etsy.

Vendors should be able to set the tax rates required for their items, which may depend on what city or states the item is being shipped to.

Vendors should be able to input their ship from zip code and USPS calculate the shipping cost for the items of each vendor that are in the shopping cart.

Items from the same vendor should be combined into larger packages so shipping is not double for two small items.

The customer should have 14 days to request a refund unless the vendor marked an item final sale. When a refund is requested the specific vendor (s) should be notified and the admin carbon copied. The customer should receive a generated RMA # and then send back the items to the proper vendors. When the vendor (s) receive the items they should have a button in their admin area that lets them mark the item (s) as returned. The site administrator will be auto sent and email letting them know its safe to refund the customer. When the administrator marks the item as refunded, both the vendor and customer should receive an automated email letting them know the money is processing back to them through PayPal. The amount owed to the vendor will be auto deducted so they are not paid for the items that were returned. No money will be paid to the vendors until after the refund period is expired so that we dont have to worry about collecting money back from vendors.

Vendors should have sales reports that show total sales for the month plus the fees that were charged on each sale. The report should include the shipping cost as well. The sales report could show the sales date, customers name, product name, the sales price, price after % is taken, and the shipping cost of the orders. At the bottom it should show the total income of the selected time period.

The website administrator should also have reports on the vendors sales. Reports on the monthly fees received in the past and what is scheduled to be received. A report that shows the list of sales, the % from each sale the admin receives and how much money was paid out to the vendors. There should never be a question for the accountant as to what is happening with the transaction of money on the website. If returns and refunds are processed, there should be an item on the report that shows this.

The website should be searchable by a product name, a specific vendors name, generic terms like dresses wich means categories should be searchable or items in the dress category should be auto tagged with dresses so we dont get an empty search. Attributes and variables should be searchable so if we search black dress, we will get results.

The vendors admin area should not see the notices that the WordPress administrator sees. It will need to be a separate interface where there are tabs to view reports, add products, view return request, manage tax rates. We should be able to put widgets in the vendors dashboard and send out notices to all vendors through some kind of email or notification system.

There will be a monthly fee and a % of each sale charged to the vendor. We will need a way to offer vendor sign up specials where the monthly fee is lower, there is a free trial, or the % of each sale is less. (woothemes subscriptions may work for this element)

Yup, we can do all of that, except the tax part. Tax is charged based on the admins sales tax rates in WooCommerce, they are not set per vendor. This is something we’ll be adding in the next release after v1.3.0, and we’re also looking at working with TaxJar on that too. The rest of your requirements WC Vendors Pro already does, or other WooCommerce plugins already do.

Where can I go to get help setting this up. is there a developer network for this plugin?

Such as, Ive seen debate about if this feature exist: the vendors having usps calculate shipping based on each of their zip codes and the shipping cost go into their commission due automatically.

I need someone I can talk to and pay for help if needed.

Ive been trying to put a multi vendor site together for over two years with other plugins on the market and have failed.

To get setup, that’s all you. 🙂 We used to offer installation services, but then those customers were nightmares for support. It’s just a plugin. It isnt rocket science. Install, activate, and tweak any settings you like. Full documentation in our KnowledgeBase. Setting it up should take you minutes, not days. 🙂

As for shipping based on zip codes and all that, it’s not something we’ve written or plan to. You might look at hiring a dev from https://codeable.io/ to make you a custom shipping module for WooCommerce or to modify an existing one.

The usps issue goes back to this discussion https://www.wcvendors.com/help/topic/integrating-packages-configuration-for-woocommerce/#post-30112
Lots of people are trying to find solutions to use usps, looks like you made some comments on the topic?

    Hi guys,

Just wanted to follow up on your comment re TaxJar- are you still thinking of working with them to integrate TaxJar with WC Vendors?

    Thanks!

Yup that’s all planned for v1.5. I am not sure what direction Jamie will lean towards, his own solution or a third party integration, or a choice of both. Tax is an incredibly complex thing. What works for me doesnt work for you. And for the next guy. Sucks! 🙂
