Hello. I was taking a look at the commission report but it appears that this report is calculating based on the Gross Total instead of the Net total.

For example, when the customer pays with Stripe, we want those fees to come out of the total before splitting commission. Also, we would like the same if we give a discount manually. We use WooCommerce Point of Sale (POS) to checkout customers in our brick and mortar store and we are able to give a discount at checkout.

In both cases, the commissions report is using the gross total instead of the net total to calculate commission. Is there a way to change this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

The fees are calculated and deducted from the total that we send to any gateway, stripe included. There is no way for us to calculate the fees before we calculate commission as we don’t do those calculations, the stripe gateway does.

In terms of discounts, if you tell a coupon to apply before commission (option in pro settings) then it will take it out before the commission. This is the only available options we have for discounts. If you require a more complex commission calculation for discounts then you’d have to custom code something and hook into our commission filter to override all the commissions calculations we already do.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

I understand that it may be difficult to calculate fees out of commission before it is sent to Stripe but the commission can be calculated once the order is complete and shows on the report. Each WooCommerce order stores the stripe fee information so it should be possible for your commission report to reflect the net amount for commissions since commissions should be done after all transaction fees. See my image attached as to what I am referring to.

So is it possible to use the net amount as shown in the “Net Revenue From Stripe” field when clicking on the commission report?

You would have to custom code that in, but it certainly could be done

ok then can you add to your future feature list. this should be important for all marketplaces. why would the marketplace want to take the full hit for Stripe fees 🙂

    Thanks for your time.

No marketplace does take the hit for Stripe fees. The vendors pay Stripe fees. Admins do not. 🙂 Admins are fee free with Stripe.
