    Hi

I have been having problems with vendors not being able to upload images to their new products. I have been through the process of deactivating all my plugins and have found that there is a conflict with W3 Total Cache. This is a plugin that was added to my site to help improve performance/download times etc. Can you recommend a similar plugin that will not cause a conflict?

    Thanks

W3 Total Cache is abandonware. It hasnt had any features added to it in years. Super Cache. Go get that one. Both, however, will work with WC Vendors without problems.

Cache plugins are funny, it’s not the cache plugin that is broken, it’s how you have it configured. Probably minifying all js/css even though you shouldnt or not excluding the right stuff.

    Hi

thanks for your reply, unfortunately i did not add the W3 Total Cache myself as I don’t really know enough about website building to do so – I had a freelancer add it as my site was running out of memory. How would I find out how it is configured?
Thanks for your help. When my children are all in school I plan to take a course in website development so that I know what I’m doing!!

Does your site have over 5000 products, or 250 vendors, or more than 2000 customers? If the answer is no:

    wp-admin > plugins > deactivate W3 Total Cache

Cache plugins are useful once a site gets BIG, but far too many (like everyone?) seems to install it before their site even made a penny. It will provide no value for you now, other than headaches, and since it’s a terrible plugin let’s just kill it now. No replacement, just disable it and all should look good.

Hello ben, we have more than 1500 products and 12 vendors, everything is ready and we are about to launch. I was wondering if we need a cache plugin. I heard from one of my partners that it can help server performance, do you recommend Super Cache now? there is a guide to configure it? thank you

    Hello,
If you have issues with your site being slow, sometimes caching plugins can help. Not always, though.
It is best not to use all of the minify settings, and make sure you exclude your dashboard pages, cart, checkout and my-account pages.
If I had to recommend one, I would recommend Super Cache.
