    Hi guys,

It´s completely new to me that one would make a marketplace using Wordress. I do, however, like the idea. I have a WP-blog so WP is not foreign to me, but I have a few questions about starting building a marketplace in word and if it´s really as easy, or rather convenient, as it´s made out to be on most of the sites I´ve have visited today.

So my question is basically, if one would like to start, let´s say an Etsy or Airbnb look a like marketplace. Would one then install wordpress with a marketplace theme, install woocommerce plugin, install WC Vendors (plus additional plugins if one needs, such as stripe connect so one can “harvest” some $$) and you´re good to go.

What I´m specifically referring to is the below features happen “automatically” (meaning, I won´t have to do it):
    – Obviously, I would not want to have to manually add my vendors.
    – Transaction fee (a small percentage I get everytime a product is sold).
    – Seller receives his/her payment.
    – Seller should have a frontend dashboard where they can track the performance of their shop and such.

The above are the most obvious to me and it seems that not all plugins support this (Though I sense that WC vendors do with the additional Stripe plugin).

So, basically, I would like to avoid annoying roadblocks consisting of things that, I feel, should be automated.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    /Kenneth

    Hi Kenneth,

WooCommerce powers over 30% of ALL online stores. The numbers are staggering. It’s #1. (And likewise, so is WC Vendors, we’re the most used and installed plugin for a marketplace).

    – Vendors can automatically add themselves if you check the box in the settings.
    – Transaction fees = commissions. You configure the commission rate. A rate of 90 means vendors get 90%, you get 10%.
    – Sellers can automatically receive payments using PayPal Adaptive Payments (included) or Stripe (purchased from wcvendors.com for $49).
    – Vendor dashboard already exists with full stats.

Each feature you asked for are already included. 🙂 Go ahead and download and install it. The price is right (Free!).

    Cheers

    Ben

It would have been faster but my wife made me stop typing so I could eat dinner with her. Damn, her! 🙂 Have fun with the plugin, we’re here if you need us.
