    Hi Ben and Jamie,

In the UK we are legally required to show customers how long their products will take to arrive. Not sure about US laws sorry.

You may have noticed I added an ACF custom field for ‘Handmade and Dispatched in’ to my wp-admin product screens. I need to work out how I add this to the dashboard and also how to add to my theme so it starts displaying on my website. I’m going to take a look at the knowledge base to try to work this out (eek!) but wanted to check whether (with it being a legal requirement) it was a field you guys were planning on adding yourselves?

    Many thanks,

    Karen

If we looked at the legal requirement for every store that runs WC Vendors, with it being used in over 100 countries, good god, we’d need a team of 100 lawyers just for that. Following the law is *your* job, not ours. 🙂

For a marketplace, especially the type yours is where production can be slow or fast depending on the vendor, I’d just put a blanket statement in your sites Terms & Conditions saying “Vendors are responsible for shipping your product, and due to handmade being a factor and individual disabilities by vendors this can or may take up to 10000 days”. Then you’re all done with it and no headache. Sure, 100000 days is a long time, you’d change that to something more reasonable, probably 14 or 21 days or whatever. 🙂 But long enough that it covers you, and in your terms page so that nobody ever even bothers to read it.

Ok I’ll look at adding the ACF field then, just wanted to check that it wasn’t a common legal requirement in lots of countries. Thanks

I’ve never heard of that as a legal requirement for anywhere, actually. This is the first time…….

Hi @Conscious Crafties, I am also in the UK and could benefit from this so if you do manage to work out how to add it, I would really appreciate if you are able to share how here? I’m a beginner with coding so all tips are gratefully received. Many thanks!

    Hi Pip,

Will do! I only have a tiny brain which is a bit full at the moment sorting out my sites shipping but going to have a play soon and will post here 🙂
