    I’m sure there used to be an option to enable Mass Payments. Now I can’t find it.

    In the knowledgebase it says:

    ‘Visit WooCommerce -> Settings -> Payments
    Either set a schedule or click “Now” and hit “Save”’

    I don’t see a Payments tab under Settings. I have a PayPal Adaptive Payments tab, but that is not the same thing.

    You have found an error on the KB article. 🙂 It’s PayPal Adaptive Payments, not Mass Payments. If I’m wrong, it’s because I don’t use PayPal myself and am truly unfamiliar with that. I’ll ask Jamie to check in here

    Mass payment options are on the WooCommerce > WC Vendors > Payments tab.

    Hi Jamie,

    I can’t see anything on that page about mass payments. It only seems to be about adaptive payments: http://awesomescreenshot.com/03743oyq5e

    I’m sure though that there used to be options for mass payments. *confused*

    Hello,

    Paypal MassPay allows you to pay people on a schedule. That’s what those settings are for. If you have instant pay enabled then parallel payments will be used. Otherwise Masspay on a schedule will be used.

    On a side note I noticed you have follow up emails plugin. Does it work well for you?

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Followup emails does indeed work very well, I use it on two of my sites.

    Hi Jamie,

    I don’t have instant pay enabled: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0fa44mahdf

    Perhaps it is because I did enable it for a short time to test it? And now it’s sort of stuck?

    Oh and yes the follow up emails plugin works well. I use it to follow up with customers 7 days after purchase to ask for feedback.

    The problem needs to be described better. “Its stuck” does not help. 🙂 Are you saying that if you enable it and save it does not stay enabled? Describe problem as best you can…….

    Hi Ben,

    My page in WooCommerce > WCVendors and then the Payments tab used to have options for making mass payments. This is what I would like to get back. Currently it only has options for instant payments. Screenshot: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0c244ms436

    You said that the reason the instant payment options are displaying and not the mass payment ones is that I have instant pay enabled.

    But I do not have instant pay enabled. If I go to WooCommerce > Settings and the Checkout tab and then within that the PayPal Adaptive Payments tab the box to enable Adaptive Payments is NOT ticked (screenshot: http://awesomescreenshot.com/0fa44mahdf). However, I did enable it once to test it.

    My hypothesis is that since enabling Adaptive Payments that one time the options for instant payments are displaying on the WooCommerce > WCVendors > Payments rather than the mass payments. But I don’t know for sure. Perhaps you could test this?

    It’s frustrating because I’ve recently been approved for mass payments by PayPal and it wasn’t trivial to get them to do that (involved emails, phone calls, sending in documentation, etc). Also the time I spend manually sending out payments each week is not my favourite thing in the word to do, so I would like to be able to use the mass payments feature, if possible.

    If anything is unclear still, please let me know and I will try to explain further.

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks.

    I tried enabling adaptive payments, but even after doing that I didn’t get any options for mass payment on the payments config page. What I did notice is that it added an extra ‘Pay via PayPal’ option to the checkout which was confusing (as it meant there were now two PayPal options to choose from).

    So at this point I’m ready to give up on this. Is it possible for you to login and have a look? I would be happy to pay or make a donation for a suggested amount for 30 mins of your time.

    Hi Charlie,

    What are you actually trying to achieve? Can you explain this to me please? Paypal adaptive (parallel) and paypal mass payments settings use the same credentials in WC Vendors and always have. I haven’t begun to re-write any of the paypal interface as of yet and has been the same since before we took over the project.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

    Hi

    Sorry not trying to hijack this thread but i have a little question on mass payments of i may. I have noticed that under the schedule options (daily, weekly etc etc) the ‘now’ option is green. If I check this option and uncheck instant payment will payments still be made “now” but with using mass payments?

    Thanks in advance

    Regards

    @Handyman
    Checking NOW will pay the vendors… NOW. NOW means “RIGHT NOW” – as in pay everyone right this second, then stop paying until you click pay now again. Checking INSTANT pays (splits commission) the vendors at checkout. Instant means at the time of checkout.
    The NOW payment would be paypalap + masspay.

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.. so, let me get this right with instant unchecked and now, checked, everybody will be paid immediately after the person has checked out. And vendors then get paid via mass payments and not split pay?

    Thanks again

    Paul- no. Instant pay checked = vendor(s) are paid at checkout.

    Instant pay unchecked , Now selected = vendors with commission due are paid NOW. They’re not paid any due commission again until you Go to payments and once again select NOW

    Ahhhhh…. now I get it. Do you know whether the fees are the same for both types?

    Thanks again much appreciated

    @Handyman
    It’s generally safe to assume that if PayPal can change a fee, they will. HAHA..
    Yes, I believe that whether Pay NOW or Pay Instant is used, admin will pay the transaction fees for payments received; and vendors will pay transactions fees for payments received. The only difference is that instead of instant pay, you pay in a big batch at your discretion. All payments are first sent to you, the site admin, when you un-check “instant pay”.

    According to paypal mass pay only charges the sender… also, when daily is selected for mass pay, is that every 24hr?

    Thanks again

    @jwchameleoncorp

    Ahh ok- well then if you check pay NOW it may only charge you, the admin. Bear with me- I am still learning all of the ins and outs of PayPal.

    You still need paypalap to pay your vendors on any schedule.
    The daily choice pays once every 24 hours from the time you activate it. Any commission that is due- it pays – once every 24 hours.
