Haven’t explored fully yet (so may have missed this) but thought that we were going to be able to set a max shipping (so if someone orders multiple products from same vendor the shipping doesn’t mount up)
I thought so too 🙁 but I think Jamie @DigitalChild was struggling to get this working for this release.
Really important to me too so I’ve not downloaded it yetHi Karen – me too, doesn’t really work for me without it as many orders will be multiple and shipping would get ridiculous.

The issue we have is that shipping is per order, but the shipping needs to be calculated at a per product level and returned per product. All of our commissions are calculated and stored per product and not per order. So when we give shipping to a vendor it’s per product. For this reason it’s not easy to do min/max shipping or free shipping over x for an order when everything is calculated and stored at a per product level. We have to make a decision on the architecture of the commission system going forward to account for commission at a per vendor, per order rate instead of the current per product rate.
This is the challenge that I currently face when trying to design these extra features, it is difficult to change the underlying system and plan for future requirements when you don’t know what they are 🙂
I’ll work it out, I’ll just need a few more cycles to get there 🙂

I read your post above and i have a thought. Sorry if it is a silly one.
If you calculate shipping per product, is it difficult to have a checkbox at every product to say for example “do not add shipping if buyer increase quantity”.
So at your calculations (if the checkbox is checked) when you see same product (quantity 2 and more) do not add shipping.With this, we can achieve this:
1) A t-shirt will have the checkbox checked: if buyer buys 1 t-shirt he will pay for example 3 euros shipping. If he buys 10 t-shirts he will still have to pay 3 euros for shipping.
2) A fridge will have the checkbox unchecked: if buyer buys 1 fridge he will pay for example 40 euros shipping. If he buys 2 fridges he will have to pay 40 + 40 = 80 euros.
I know that this is very simple thinking and i don’t want you to explain me why you cannot do it, if you cannot do it. You are the developer!

Thank you so much for the explanation and update regarding this feature for the shipping. I understand that this is a very difficult issue to work with, as not only you describe above…. but this past summer I also conversed with quite a few other experienced wordpress and woocommerce developers to try and work with the woo per product shipping + wc vendors and they all agreed that this particular situation (combined shipping/max shipping) is quite a conundrum with this overall set up.This feature is next to essential for my marketplace- as @helloand and @Conscious Crafties mentioned above- having shipping increase by the full shipping price for each additional item from a vendor will, at times, be ridiculously expensive and a total turn off for buyers on the particular marketplace we are designing.

@nikosmdtps that is something I could implement and will as it’s a very elegant solution to the multiplier problem. This would still need to be done at a product or store level but would allow you to set your default at the store level and only change the cases you need to, such as the fridge.I still have to think about the min/max issue but I’ll make sure that multiplier is in the next v1.1.1 release.

Instead of a “do not add shipping if buyer increase quantity” checkbox, why not have an “additional item shipping price” box? That way you can enter in the shipping price you want for any additional items ordered. This would then be added to the main item shipping cost.
Then how about some sort of “maximum number of additional items charged” box.
So if you entered in 5 and a user buys 6, just the main shipping is used.Hello,

I know you can’t give estimates but just bumping this one as it’s a constant complaint I keep getting about not having combined shipping for (different) products from the same seller.
I have tonnes of abandoned Carts and pretty convinced this is the reason we aren’t getting as many sales as we should be.
I know the focus is on the very much needed variable products at the mo, but just want to be reassured really that combined shipping is coming.

My developers did this for me in a morning – I have a tick box to allow max shipping per order / per vendor so it shouldn’t be too difficult. Works really well.

@helloand if this is not something you could share with the community I would also be interested in being in touch with your developers as this is quite an important feature for our site.Jamie is working to build in some additional shipping options for PRO 1.4, and this is one of the options that will *likely* be included.
Following, would love a max shipping amount or more solutions…
I’m intent on buying PRO but manage shipping costs is very importantv1.4.0 , which will be released soon ( I do not know the exact time, but I know much work has been completed) will have a max shipping option and more options for vendor shipping. It won’t have EVERYTHING that everyone wants for shipping- but it will have the max per vendor/order and a few more options. 🙂
@lacasadelweb – Pro is so much more than shipping. Shipping is such a small part of the whole package.

If you update to the latest version of WC Vendors, then these new shipping options are available for Vendors Shipping- including Max rate per vendor order. Vendors can set their store default, and override on a per product basis also.
