NOTICE: We've Moved to a Ticket System for Support

As of August 31, 2017 (12am EST) our support forums will be retired (read-only), and we will be moving to a support ticket system.  This will allow us to better organize and answer support requests, and provide a more personalized experience as we assist our customers.

    Hi Ben,

    When a vendor is viewing an order on the pro dashboard at the moment they cannot ‘open/edit’ the order like on the back end There is also limited information in that the purchasers phone number or email address are not viewable. Are there any user setting that can adjust this so that the vendor can have access to the information.

    Jamie is refactoring the order details page to provide more information. It’ll be in the next update of Pro.

    Hi Ben,

    That’s great, I look forward to the update.

    In the mean time, a question I have is if the vendor was viewing orders on the WordPress back end and not on the pro dashboard should they see more information? Can they have access to the same details as say the site admin has. I can see all the required detail in orders as the site admin. But all the vendor can see even on the back end is the same info as they see on the pro dash front end. Is this correct or are there any capabilities I can set in order for the vendor to be able to view the order details in the same way that the site admin can on the back end?

    Hi Cathy,

    The back-end is more of a WC Vendors Free feature, it’s not meant to be used in Pro. You CAN, but we will not be updating or adding any more information to the back end for Pro purposes. Showing the vendors the actual orders page that the admin sees is dangerous, they can do a lot of dangerous things like refund orders, cancel orders, create fake orders, etc…. I wouldnt recommend coding something like that at all.

    Hi Ben,

    That’s fine, we really just want the vendor to have access to some more info when viewing the order such as the customer contact details, phone and email.

    One thing though that could be related, I know that we don’t want vendors deleting orders here but what is the situation in terms of a customer requesting that an order be cancelled. Can the vendor go into their stripe account and cancel and refund the order. I’m assuming that the Vendor has rights to do this in their Stripe account set up through the stripe connect plugin facility. Or could it be the case that the Site Admin has to issue the refund for the transaction?
    Legally our purchasers will have a 14 day cooling off period where they have the right to cancel the order and look for a refund.

    I’m sorry, I dont know how I missed your post.

    Vendors can go to Stripe and issue a refund, but you, the admin, also would have to refund their portion too. However you manage the flow is up to you, as long as you both issue the refund, and then you, the admin, marks the commission as reversed for the product returned.

    Thanks for the reply.
    That’s fine, just one more question. When marking the commission as reversed I just noticed I can see clearly commissions paid to vendors is there anywhere on the system that records the % commission that is retained/paid to the site admin? Is there a way to mark the reversal of this payment?

    There’s no place that marks the amount retained by the admin. It’s just what’s left over. 🙂

    Hi Ben,

    Is viewing the phone number of the customer in the order details page released yet?
    I’m using the latest version of PRO and I cannot see it :/

    If not, could you tell me which php file is the one that I should edit, becasue I need to fix it asap.

    There is an option now to show or hide the customer billing phone number form vendors when they view the orders page in the dashboard (yoursite.com/pro_dashboard/order/). That option can be found by going to: wp admin > WooCommerce > WC Vendors > Pro and scrolling down to PERMISSIONS

    As for in the actual order details modal that pops up when the vendor clicks on that option, you can edit that template here: plugins/wcvendors-pro/templates/dashboard/order/order_details.php
