Is it possible to get the images updated in the Paypal adaptive payments setup? They seem to be a little bit different

    Cheers,

I’m having problems with this too. I don’t see the option for: select parallel payment but don’t check “chained payment”
There is no option for parallel payment

From PayPal: “Parallel Payments is deprecated. Recommend PayPal EC Parallel Payments”

We did yell at PayPal for “deprecating” a feature to the public without warning — or even without a replacement product. They are deprecating something there’s no replacement for. Is that not crazy? 🙂 Our PayPal AP rep, who handles approvals for all of your AP account requests, also knows that it’s silly and promises the deprecated platforms are not deprecated, they are more or less using deprecated as a word wrong, they should have starred the platform they prefer you to use instead of mislabeling one that is fine and not going anywhere.

Anyhow, fill out the app as our KB instructs. They are valid instructions. And ignore deprecated warnings on paypal’s app page 🙂

What about the sections for ‘Adaptive Accounts’, ‘3rd party permissions. Are we to set anything in these areas?

I would also like to know how to complete the Paypal New app form.
    In particular under sections
    Adaptive accounts and
    3rd Party Permissions

Also I can’t find the options that you point out in the old screenshot in your help under section Services used by app
after Preapprovals under Confirm funding sources you support.
    Where are those?

Yes, please any updated tutorial or guide for this is very much appreciated on the PayPal new app form.

The screenshots look a little different on the site now. I actually only knew up until today that I had to take these steps to actually make Paypal adaptive payments work with WC vendors. Was doing Paypal adaptive payments all wrong.

    Thanks!

Remember that each application is unique. There’s a lot of options on the application form, and if they arent checked on our screenshots or used by our screenshots, they are not used by WC Vendors for any reason so it doesnt matter if they are checked or not checked. As long as you are approved for parallel payments, mass pay, and the vendor is the primary receiver, paypal will approve your app and things will just work. Remember: Say no to sandbox mode for Paypal, skip it, dont collect $200, and go directly to live mode.

    Ben,

Great! Thank you. I will keep a look out for Anna’s adjustments to the tutorial and plan accordingly. Had 2 quick questions I was wondering if I could ask you.

    1) Is there a way to remove commission displayed from checkout pages? Currently it shows what the vendor gets and what my website (PantryHound) takes as commissions. It also gets reflected in the buyer’s paypal account (see screengrabs). I am sorry if this is a repeat question. Just need clarification.

    2) Upon placing an order, vendors receive an email confirmation with order details. It does not contain any commission information which I feel it probably should. Is this how it is supposed to look? (see screengrab)

Thank you for your time and patience.

Meant to send only 3 screengrabs and make the conversation private. Argh. It won’t let me edit my reply.

This is a good point Beth. I think commission should be removed too.
    +1 for this request

    Hi,
followed the screenshots and I got this from Paypal:
“With Instant Chained Payments, sellers or service providers are the primary receiver since they receive the majority of the customer’s payment and are usually responsible for order fulfillment. As the merchant of record, the primary receiver is liable for issuing refunds as needed and resolving any chargebacks. As the secondary receiver and platform owner, you would receive any fees or commissions charged to the customer.”

Now I have to perform some changes in my application.
As I understand the primary and secondary receiver should be different as in the screenshots.(?)

    In:
    Who is the primary receiver?
I have “name of my company”
    and under
    Who is the secondary receiver?
    “Vendor”

Paypal sais it should be the other way around.
    I’m confused.
    Please help

I’m getting the tutorial in our Knowledgebase updated.

DO NOT CHOOSE CHAINED PAYMENTS. This is not correct. Our PayPalAP instructions actually do say to not choose this option. We do not support Chained Payments; please select PARALLEL PAYMENTS. They are NOT depreciated.

When asked who is the primary recipient of the payment, it is the vendor, not the admin.

You know what… I didn’t see the Parallel Payments option originally – now I look back at my screenshots above, there it is… staring me in the face.

I couldn’t see any of the “Who pays the fee”/”Primary recipient” if Chained Payments wasn’t selected.

Hopefully I won’t need to re-apply and have it rejected due to this.

With something this complicated, it is critical to keep your documentation up to date!
