    Hi!

So let me set the scene…

I run a site with a number of vendors. We are all living in Australia where (if we are registered for GST – Goods and Services Tax) we need to charge GST on the products we sell to people in Australia PLUS we have to have our prices with GST INCLUSIVE. PLUS some of the vendors are registered and are required to charge GST and some aren’t. So the set up in the back end is all done – that’s fine. Products listed by people who are GST registered have GST applied to their sales and those of us that aren’t, don’t – that bit is working fine. 🙂

But the problem lies with when some people try to checkout with PayPal Adaptive Payments …

We often sell to people OUTSIDE Australia, therefore the people in our store who ARE registered for GST will have the prices change to exclude GST when overseas customers go to checkout the totals can be weird amounts – like $1.82.

However when numbers like that are tried to be divided by the commission percentages – Paypal throws an error and people can’t place the order.

So essentially – I’m after advice or ideas as to what to do…

I’ve considered trying to have some thing where whenever we get a total like that, it is rounded up to the nearest 10c or something but to be honest I’ve no idea how to do that just yet… I guess I’m just after some ideas of what would be good to do in this situation.

Another part of this – which COULD be an issue is that I have my own vendor store within the market. To not worry about charging myself commission – I have set the commission for my store to 100%. However even when Adaptive Payments DOESN’T need to split the transation (even when it’s only one $1.82 product being purchased) PayPal STILL throws the error, which doesn’t make complete sense to me. Thus not sure if it’s an issue or if there’s something about how AP works that I am just not aware of?

Anyway, some thoughts on this would be great.

    Thanks!

I haven’t tried it in Free – we’re using Pro … if that helps!

Sorry for my slowness – I forgot to get it to tell me to notify me when there’s a response.

    Ta!

    Hello

Can you attempt to do this with Pro disabled and see if you get the same error. It will help me to work out where the tax calculation is breaking when sending information to paypal.

    cheers,

    Jamie.

Gotta love PayPal. 😉 We’ll be ready and standing by for any error we can replicate so we can fix, as always……..
