This is a very confusing question, and the one I can not find the answer to. in my store vendors sell their products and I take commission much like amazon and eBay. let’s say I take only 8 percent of the full order amount.

Once an order is received my PayPal account gets full order amount and PayPal takes 2.9% from full amount.
then after a week, I transfer 92 percent of that full amount to the vendor, will PayPal return my fees it charged me.

because if they don’t then that means that first PayPal will take 2.9% from full amount and then when I transfer 92% vendor commission to the vendor, PayPal will charge 2.9% to vendor also.
which means Paypal end up having 5.8% of each sale. which is a huge loss, to be honest.

can you tell me that true how can I go around this fee? because only vendor PayPal account should be charged for 22.9 percent I should not be charged 2.9 percent on the full order amount because I will only keep 8 percent to myself.

I wanted to do instant pay because do you think if I do instant pay to the vendor, I will never receive full order amount and the vendor will get there 92% directly without ever hitting my PayPal account. However, even when I checked instant pay and even schedule payment, nothing seems to work. the only payment system works is when I check “now” and pay manually with mass payment. when reading the forum you answered to check vendor PayPal address and that is indeed correct because manually mass payments work however schedule and instant do not work.

    Thank You for your work

    Hello,
Did you apply for PayPal Adaptive payments?
You need adaptive payments in order to do the instant or scheduled payments.
As far as paypal fees- I know- they are money grabbing mongrels. . Yep- they take fees form both transfers.

Dear Anna, Yes I do have PayPal adaptive settings, couple months ago when I built the site I used your tutorial to set up the adaptive payments and I was approved and I have all the credentials.
    https://www.wcvendors.com/kb/configuring-paypal-adaptive-payments/

If when the instant payments start working and i start using instant payment, that means the vendor commission will never come to admin PayPal account right, it will go directly to the vendor which means admin and vendor will pay 2.9% for only there part of commissions. correct?

    @zikria-shakil
Yes- that is correct. If you use instant pay, the vendor will receive their commission (paypal fee for commission amount will be deducted) and the site admin will receive their commission(paypal fee for YOUR commission amount will be deducted). You each will only pay the paypal fee on the amount transferred (your commission) to your respective paypal accounts.

Anna, thank you for that information. the problem is that even tho I have PayPal adaptive payments and all the credentials and all the credentials are in the WC vendor (woo commerce) yet instant payment will not work. in the wcvendor>paymnets ‘it states that ” in order for instant payment to work, the customer must check out with instant payment gateway” i just have PayPal gateway, what’s the difference in PayPal adaptive payments gateway and where doi get that from.

Hi! so never mind the last reply because I have found out the reason why PayPal instant was not working because I disabled the normal PayPal gateway and now users can only pay through PayPal ap. Now the last question is, can PayPal adaptive work with Paypal pro, because I want to charge credit/debit cards while staying in the site.

I have a question thats along the line of Zikrias last question, so please excuse me for butting in, i hope it helps both of us.

I would like to have the adaptive paypal payments set up, to work for all vendors BUT i would also like to still sell my own products as the main admin of the store.

So i would still like to have Paypal express/instant active on my site, which currently i use another plug in, to make active.

So my question is similar to Zikrias, is it possible to keep that active but also have paypal adaptive payments set up for vendor sales please?

can you run through how that would work please? I cant get my head around how there will only be one ‘paypal’ button but there will need to be two different ways the paypal payment is taken… express/instant or adaptive.

Is it that i will have to turn my products sold by me, into a vendor rather than an admin seller? is that easy to do please? i’d prefer not to if there is another way please?

    Thanks!

    Hello,
No- you need to only have the PayPal Adaptive Payments active for customer payments. If you are using a different paypal plugin for something else on your site other than the customer payments- as long as the classes do not conflict it should be fine. But within WooCommerce, you need to only use the PayPalAP for vendor products/customer payments.
If you use more than one, then there will be two paypal payment options at checkout, and if a customer does not use the PaypalAP button, the vendor will not receive the payment split / commissions at checkout. Admin will. Not to mention this will be confusing for the customer, as they will not know which paypal button to use and they might bounce.

    Thanks Anna!

Can i check please, is it ok to use the paypal adaptive feature of WC vendors, on products that are sold by just me as an admin (not a vendor)?

it seems to work ok, when testing in sandbox. So for example if i test that just products sold by me as admin, it says my test paypal account still receives all of the money.

but if the cart also has products that I’m testing as a different vendor, it seems to then split those ok too, between me as admin commission and there %.

i ask, because i need to keep the products i solely sell, as admin sold, due to an export plug in i use to export those orders to my dropship supplier.

so if i can switch off my paypal express plug in and just have the adaptive paypal set up, and sell products myself a admin but also have vendors i split commission with, is there any issues you can forsee please?

    Thanks
    Matt

sorry Anna i also forgot to ask this…

When i am testing a straight forward Admin / vendor split sale, with the % splits set, i am getting an email from woocommerce to the test vendor email address and it works perfectly, giving me the correct % split amount.

but then at the marketplace admin email address, the email just gives me the full price amounts for each product sold, instead of my % split amount. And the the total is the full sale amount.

is this correct please, or should i be getting an email as the marketplace admin stating the % we earn from each product sold please?

    Thanks!
    Matt
