NOTICE: We've Moved to a Ticket System for Support

As of August 31, 2017 (12am EST) our support forums will be retired (read-only), and we will be moving to a support ticket system.  This will allow us to better organize and answer support requests, and provide a more personalized experience as we assist our customers.

    I would like to know if refunds can be made before the automatic commission payment is made to the vendor, or at least until the order is marked as complete?

    Is this for stripe or paypal?

    I’m not entirely sure what you mean by refunds before complete? If you have instant pay turned on then all transactions are instant so refunds would happen after. If you schedule your payments to vendors then you as the store admin can refund at your discretion.

    Refunds with paypal are a bit messy and confusing when using adaptive payments and it would be worth reading the refund process over at the paypal website.

    Hi Jamie,

    I would like to use Stripe to pay the commission to vendors.
    Here is the case: I’m running a marketplace where you can reserve activities like canoe.
    A vendor in this case is the activity provider.
    The thing is that people buy their activity some time before doing it (on day to several weeks), and the vendor has to get paid only after the activity is done. In some cases, the buyer gets refunded (I.E. if the activity is cancelled for weather reasons).
    So I would like to have the payment pending on stripe, until the admin marks it as “complete” in woocommerce. After this, the automatic commission payment to the vendor and the site could operate normally.

    Is it possible to have it pending some time like that?


    WC Vendors Support

    Hi Maxime,

    That type of functionality is indeed quite unique, and is not currently supported with WC Vendors Stripe because it’s not possible to code. With Stripe, if you need to issue a refund, I believe both you and the vendor will need to issue the refunds individually, since each of you got paid individually. Stripe does not offer a way to “tentatively capture at a later date”, it’s all “charge and take money now”.
