    Hi Anna,

I’m just reporting this one officially for Jamie (know we’ve chatted about it). Here’s some oddities I’ve found with the Search Shop Widget:

    1. Appearing on none Vendor Store pages
I think the intention was the Search Shop Widget would appear only on Vendor Shop pages:

However it appears on the following pages:
    -Category pages
    -Product pages
When using the search on these pages it searches the entire site not just vendor store.

    2. Search Shop Results page removes navigation menus
My menus when on normal woo commerce search:

Menus disappear when on a Vendor Shop Search results page:

    3. Query String not working if added to product description
This isn’t a bug as such but my vendors got very excited and started adding search result urls to listings.
eg they have 20 purses in their shop. On each purse listing they started adding the query string url for ‘purses’ in their shop to their product description eg ‘Find all my other purses here:
    https://www.consciouscrafties.com/page/2/?s=purse&post_type=product&wcv_vendor_id=1059
Unfortunately the link in the product description ignores the query string and just takes customers to the sites home page. So is there a way to allow query strings to work in the product descriptions? I really appreciate that Jamie has added some code to our product description so vendors external links don’t work though, so if it means removing that bit of code to get query string to work then leave as is 🙂

Thanks for the plug in to hide the Search Store widget on the product pages and category pages Anna 🙂
Plug in to hide or show widgets

I’m going to remove the Search Widget from my site temporarily while waiting for number 1 and 2 to get fixed.

    Many thanks,

    Karen

    Karen,
thank you for the detailed description- that always helps! 🙂
The menu issue— this does not happen on Storefront. So I will need to do some testing to see why this occurs with the KLEO theme’s menu. You’re still just using the regular menu with Kleo, correct? Not a mega menu or anything?

One thing– when I use the link you provided https://www.consciouscrafties.com/page/2/?s=purse&post_type=product&wcv_vendor_id=1059 it does correctly show the vendor’s purses. So are you saying that it is only within the product description that this does not work properly? If so, this may be due to the field being sanitized and I am not sure if we can change that….

I will do some testing and submit a detailed issue so that we can take a look at how these can be fixed and/or improved for a future update. I’ve already submitted the issue for the vendor store search appearing on main shop pages, category pages and product pages. 😉

    Hi Anna,

I am also facing all the issues which Karen has reported. For me, in addition to the top Menu disappearing, the footer menu disappears too.

    Thanks

    Hello,
Apparently the WC Vendors Store Widget is designed to show on all shop pages; the difference is it will only search within the store if it is used in a vendor store.
If you wish for it to only show on Vendor store pages, you can use the plugin WIDGET CONTEXT and adjust the widget setting so that it shows only on vendor store pages.

    Ok thanks Anna 🙂

So yes just need to figure out why both @MALAVIKA-PRAV and I are having our menu’s/footer messed with in the Search Results page on our themes.

The query string link only doesn’t work when added to the Product Description. Vendors always surprise me with how they use things!

    Thanks for all your help,

    Karen

I just did some more testing and found that the Search seems to be working fine in the sense that it only searches from within the store but comes out of the store to the main site. Please see the attached snapshots. I think the search searches the whole site and filters it by Vendor_id, please see the url.

Yes, the issue of header and footer menu disappearing persists.

    Really appreciate for help Anna.

    Hello,
Not yet- I am not certain why this happens on some themes and not others.
It may be the way the header is called up or how the product-archive page is modified in the theme.
I will try to get an answer for this, though I am not certain the answer will be theme same for both themes.
what theme are you using, @malavika-prav?
